The Frandidate (7) (Franny K. Stein, Mad Scientist)

I purchased these Franny books for my eight year old daughter, as she'd already gone through the Dear Dumb Diaries series by the same author. My daughter happens to want to be a scientist when she grows up, so the subject matter seemed perfect. My daughter absolutely adored all these books, and read through them within a matter of a couple of days. One thing I would say is that although the books are for an age range of 7 - 12 years, for my daughter's reading ability, they were far too simple. There is large text and lots of line drawings in the books, making them a very good and unfortunately quick read for those with a good reading ability.

My eight year old son has read this book. The following is his review:I like the book called The Frandidate. It shows really cool stuff, and it's funny. Franny combined things that were funny to create a funny cat, but it turned out ugly. In my opinion, you should read this book because it's one of my favorite.

My 9 year old son read this book - he loves Franny - he said she had really funny and whacky ideas about how to run for class president. This book made him laugh a lot!

It was a amazing book and it had a life lesson not to lie too people. So if you read it it's a great adventure for franny.

I liked this book because it's good for third graders and it's funny. I recommend this book to people who like funny books. I rate this book 5 stars because it's a funny long good story.

I normally dont buy hardcover books (more expensive) but my son is reading (again) his Franny books and wanted to read the latest book too..The HUGE smile on his face when he saw the book this afternoon is worth every penny I paid for it. He read it in 30 minutes and then read it again. Thanks Jim Benton :-)

item arrived timely and as described. The quality of this paperback is similar to that of the others in the series, that is less than wonderful.

The Frandidate was really cool but it got too controlling. It was better at the beginning when it looked like a very tall Franny. The skin was better for a couch than a person.

I love these books. Kindle version does not disappoint. Perfect for that emerging reader, and anyone who loves mad scientists.

A great gift (the entire series eventually) I ever got my niece, she loves it. Why not clever, well illustrated, and fun. Even workable for all ages. My niece was excited, "Yay, two more till I have the whole set."Benton is brilliant at not pulling a Walt Disney and talking down to people. Treats a reader of any age like a thinking human being always growing and developing.
