How many would I need to make a throw sized blanket?

Three will make a nice sized blanket about 3 1/2 ft wide and 5-6 feet long. I use an M or N hook. I’ve made at least 50 of them. Everyone loves them. Soooo soft. Blessings to you.

Will 2 skeins be enough to knit a blanket? Does this come with a pattern?

Yes there is a pattern - for crochet blanket, which calls for four (4) 300g balls. I love this yarn.

Why does this yarn require 1 12v battery?

It must be color related, I purchased the burgundy ombré and no batteries were required. It is a data entry error, no batteries needed for the yarn, and this is the most fun question I’ve had!

Could this yarn be used for hand knitting a throw?

I think a 7 Super Bulky yarn such as Bernat Blanket Extra or something similar would be a better option IMHO.
