My son is 12 and loved this book set! He had read it over few times!

Bought book #1 for my 10 yo son (4th grade) for Christmas. He LOVED it so I bought the series (7 books). He barely puts them down. Tells me they are very fun and amusing. He’s had the series for a month now and is on the 6th book. He does read at a higher level, but the chapters are at a moderate reading level for a 4th grader. He loves this series so much that he wanted to share them .... he donated his first book to his teacher’s library.

I've read these books over 20 times and each time they get better! This series is a fantasy series about a society where you can't imagine or draw or you'll be sentenced to death, until the main character Alex finds this magical land where they can imagine and draw without being sentenced to death.

She read the whole serise in 2 weeks.

My 10 year old so absolutely loves to read and these books were recommended by a friend. We struggle to find enough books to keep him entertained, so I was happy that this series was available. He loves the stories! Some parts have been a bit scary for him, but he can be a little sensitive to things like that, so he just reads on and gets past the scary parts. I am so happy we bought these books!Update...I have started reading these with my daughter and we can't get enough! These might be the best books I have ever read. I love the story and am totally invested in the characters. We are on book 3 and I'm thrilled that there are so many. Now, they just need to make a movie out of these.

Good story, worth reading. I bought the complete collection, although I have only read first 5 of them so far. Others have covered the story details. The author keept my interest throughout the books I have read even though I can tell it is written for a younger audience I still enjoyed it.

My son loves reading. It's a good series when he reads all of them in a couple of weeks without being prompted. He's in 3rd grade but reads middle school level. I may try them next seeing how many parents also enjoyed it.
