This scene is from a wall painting portraying the ancient Egyptian goddess Isis (right) leading Queen Nefertari by the hand. Nefertari lived around 1300-1255 BC and was the first wife of the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramesses II. Her name means "Beautiful Companion." The tomb of Queen Nefertari, located in the Valley of the Queens near Thebes, is one of the best preserved and most ornately decorated of all known tombs. This is one of the most famous images from her tomb.
