I bought these replacement pads last year around this time and this year they've started smelling of sweat because I wear them 12 hrs a day every day. I first purchased some alternative brand figuring these are all made in the same factory in China right? Well, with the random brand the noise cancelling was noticeably worse. It was such a difference that I was worried I had broken something when installing the new pads, but noticed the WC listing says "Extra Thick" so ordered another pair of these to compare. And while the random brand and this one visually look to be the same thickness, the padding on the WC is noticeably firmer and so seems to get a better seal around the ear. The difference between the random brand and this one is probably 30% of noise cancelling effectiveness? It's really shocking. If you are also debating whether they are worth the extra money I'm going to say yes, especially if you're considering spending $500+ on new headphones because your old Bose aren't as good any more. They're very easy to install once you figure out what's going on, I recommend using a butter knife or plastic shim to get the edge of the pads to "click" under the hooks because it is hard to do with fingers. I do wish the nicer colours weren't so much more expensive than the black though. Thank you for your excellent product WC!!

Love them! Comfortable, good looking, easy to install, special and not just boring black. Absolutely love them.
