The main reason I bought this RainPoint water timer is because it was the best I can find that is WiFi and has an app. I am very pleased on how it has been working. You don't have to be a tech to connect the unit to your WiFi. And the instructions was easy enough to setup the app. I needed the app because I travel alot and I needed access to control the unit from anywhere. So far, everything I need to do, I am able to do it remotely. Plus, the unit is in an area that is not easy to get to. So being able to remotely turn the system on or off has been great. Or even changing the water schedules for each of the 2 zones. So convenient. It is well built. Very sturdy. I can tell that this unit will last. And the design on the unit is simple with simple buttons on it. The app is Easy to Use. You can connect multiple units to it. What is very nice is that I can set multiple plans / schedules for each zone. Once setup, I can easily turn on or off a plan for each zone. Or I can have them all on at the same time. So you can set a zone to start at 5am for a certain lend of time on certain days. And you can also have that same zone turn on at 9pm on certain days for that same zone. Also, if it has been raining, you can easily turn on a rain delay for 24, 48 or 72 hours. Amazing! There's more. I can manually turn on the system and set a timer. So I can turn on zone 1 manually and set it to turn off automatically after 15 minutes. I use this feature alot when I am fixing or checking our my drip system. The app also tell you how much water has been used the last time you turned it on. There are so many other features that I have not used yet. I am very Happy I bought this unit and I Highly Recommend it.

This unit is amazing. Purchased in May 2023 and it's worked flawlessly since then. Use it at the Jersey Shore where HOT summers make watering a requirement. WiFi rocks as adjusting schedules off-site is a plus. New batteries every year and a little cleaning is all it takes. Highly recommend!

This timer is easy to set up and doesn't lose connectivity. I didn't have to spend ages troubleshooting anything. But I was hoping it would last longer than 2 seasons, for the price. First the tabs on the battery door broke off, and I was able to get around this problem by using a screwdriver to pry it open. But the next year it wouldn't power on at all, despite fresh batteries and despite the wall plug working fine. I brought it indoors throughout both winters, so it didn't suffer weather extremes, it just didn't last. I wish they sold just the timer itself. The wall plug still works and it seems like a shame to just throw it out as well. Pros: - Very nice to have 2 separate zones - Easy to use manually - your hubby without the app can press a physical button and see it turn on or off - Easy to set up - Works with Alexa so you can tell your Dot "Turn on the garden water for 15 minutes" whenever you want Cons: - Only lasts a couple of years - You can only buy the whole set, not just a wall plug or a timer - Needs an app to set up automatic watering

I have both this and the orbit behyve. i was wondering why with 2 less connections this one was more expensive; i found out why. The initial connection did take about 10 minutes. i just couldnt have it connect to my network. then once the wifi adapter is your network, you have to pair it to the device. once that is over with, it functions like a dream. more rugged exterior than the behyve with no lcd screen which is a plus for me (less chance of water/humidity creeping in.) the stop and pause functions are almost instant! the behyve has a few second delay and cant be paused. the notifications in the app are a nice feature; it tells you when theyre in use and functioning properly and is supposed to send a notification of a malfunction or leak....hopefully never have to find out if they work. my only gripes are about the app/interface. the app has 3 cycles you can program for each of the 2 zones. you cant set one and set a different start time for it to repeat that cycle. you have to manually recreate the cycle with a different start time using one of your programmable cycles. this may be updated in time with an app update but im pretty happy with this purchase and how it functions. WAY better than using just a manual wheel programable timer. oh, and the manual cycles only go to 60 minutes. not a huge deal but if you want to use this outside of your programmed zones it might get a little cumbersome to constantly make those changes. now the race is on to see if this or the behyve lasts longer. first one to die is getting replaced with the other and im pretty sure it will be the rainpoint holding up over the long haul.

The Rainpoint Sprinkler Timer has won my confidence. The product description, and my neighbor's claims, seemed too good to be true. But it was exactly what I needed before heading off on vacation. We'd put time, effort & a small fortune into our garden this spring & I didn't want to risk losing it. Well, not only did did it keep our garden & yard happy, it also sent daily reports to my phone, allowing me to breath easy while on vacation. Setup instructions were complete & had us up & running quickly. A user friendly app allows control from your phone. It even communicates with the weather forecast! There's no leakage or mechanical issues. It saves water through its efficiency. It's sturdy and simple to use, AND it's still allowing me to breath easy after returning home from vacation - no need to hand water or turn the valves on/off. It's a great value for the money.

I had some issues getting this unit to work in my wifi. I called twice on the wknd after hours and someone called me back both times. I had seen similar reviews and I can’t believe it but this company really wants to remove obstacles. A bit unfortunate that (for me) this was probably the hardest item to get onto my wifi but I’m a dummy when it comes to that stuff. Unit has amazing control and monitoring (especially with the moisture monitors - make sure you buy the “wifi” monitors and not the “Bluetooth” moisture monitors). I feel I have “babied” my lawn in the past by watering too often for shorter periods. Now I can see exactly how much water I am using and how “wet” it is 6” below the surface where it really counts. Update after 2 months - Unit is working just as expected. After several weeks of watering by time, I noticed that one zone (with the number but different sprinkler heads) was using way more water than the other. Using this RainPoint controller I was able to switch to watering by quantity - so now both zones are getting the same amount of irrigation again. Great unit!

We bought this timer after we had already tried a few of the single zone timers for our front lawn. I decided to replace both of the singles with this to run two zones in my front long off one spicket, and then re-purpose the single zone timers for our garden and flower beds. These things work fantastic. I have basically now "set it and forget it" and my timers run every morning and are finished before we wake up. My lawn and flowers have never looked better. No more forgetting to water, or having someone come over while we're gone to water for us. It's all automated and has already made a huge difference in the few weeks that we've been using these timers. I should add that I have these paired up with a few Melnor sprinklers set strategically throughout my lawn and also with 2 irrigation systems that I have running to my flowers and in the garden beds. The only two cons I can come up with is the fact that the hubs can only hand up to 4 timers, which is a bit of a bummer if you want to add more than that, and in the app interface, when I set a 24 hour rain delay, it's only for the time I set it. It might be user error, but I can't seem to find a way to tell the app to look at the weather and set a rain delay if it rains out. I have to manually set the delay each time I want it. I might need to click around some more. Otherwise, they're super easy to setup, intuitive to use. Battery life seems to be great and it's solved a big issue and added consistency to my lawn which it desperately needed. I'm highly considering purchasing one more to make my front lawn 4 zones instead of 2. Can't recommend these enough as a cheap, alternative solution to putting in a professional sprinkler system!

I have been using the Rainpoint sprinkler for about a month now and have been pleasantly surprised by the simplicity and ease of use of it. Previously, I have tried two other sprinkler timers and they usually had one issue or the other (timer not working or no water in hose etc.) within 1-2 weeks of usage. This one has been working well so far and has kept my garden happy. The rain delay feature is awesome and helped us save water whenever it rains. Apart from that, the scheduling of watering based on exact amount of gallons of water is very cool as you can prevent overwatering of plants using that. The UI of the app is good overall. Sometime, it might take a few seconds to refresh the app screen when you selecting a manual watering mode from the app. Other than that, it is easy to use. Overall, the features in the product are practical and will save on the cost for watering your garden. The price is also good when compared to other products with similar features. You will not regret buying this smart sprinkler timer.
