Okay, I'm going to date myself here, I grew up with TV trays, small trays made for holding meals,food while you (guess what?) watch TV. Anyway, the concept behind those trays, fold up after use so they are out of the way! Now those trays were not very sturdy & were made with a thin aluminum top but this table is far above that.I wanted something that I could put out of the way when or if I didn't need it for a while. This item can be folded up & put in closet or just leaned up against a wall or even behind/or under furniture to get it out of the way. Slide under sofa, put it in space behind a door. It assembles & folds down really easy - the different heights make it usable with different needs.Full height: Extra countertop,food prep area or food dispensing area during get-togethers. Yes, it will act as a TV tray so you can watch TV, but is much more sturdy. Can be used as desk for doing paperwork, homework, crafts, etc.Lower it down for kids, or to use as a side table next to couch or chairs. I used it at it's lowest position next to a lounge chair to hold my stuff - mags & ice tea + phone when sitting outside.I like that the legs are actually attached, that way the whole product is stored together, no where are the legs or where is the top problem when going to set it up.I use it both inside & out, & most of the time it has been outside on my patio in the direct sun, still is in good condition, & I live in the southwest desert where the sun shines long & it's really hot, it came thru the summer without any damage.

I purchased this Table initially for a stable TV Tray type Table, and it is HUGE! Hehe - If seeking a Large TV Tray type format and looking for a stable one, this might be it! Hehe - I was originally seeking something solid and stable, and of course this model held thus reputation by the positive reviews, and also knew it was rather large by the dimensions, but believe me, this is a rather large TV Tray unit!It is indeed stable enough, and also large enough for probably two really, and most of all at the present price level with Free Shipping represents a great bargain in most of us consumer's eye!The only real drawback if I were critical lets say, is basically style appeal in the whole affair. It's not the most stylish piece of furniture in the ole country house, and more of actually a commercial type style approach in its overall formatted styling, but with that brings a bit more of a stable based format in the table if ya will. - Personally I think it's a bargain considering the price these days and present day economics, and while not being the most stylish, I feel many women may find good use of this stable table, in the laundry room for instance, for folding cloths for the kids, keeping her tools of essential need at close hand, to using for kitchen assistance like in an extra table for the Microwave or other, or Hot plate slow-cookers during the busy Holidays, to even light enough to bring several of those prepared dishes to the large dining table for the Holiday guest for serving, or, us guys that well, like a larger formatted TV Tray Table when watching the Sunday Night Sport Teams!OVERALL: A great bargain at the present price and Free Shipping from Amazon! It is an item that indeed will go the longevity in all its future employment! 5 Stars on this one for Value and represents a solid deal in today's present economics!

We use these in the living room if we eat and watch TV. We love the adjustable height and they are very sturdy. I'm very glad to have found these.

this is a good sturdy table with the height being adjustable from where you lock in the legs. it has what is best described as a trigger locking / release mechanism that is spring loaded, you squeeze this and one leg pulls into itself releasing it from the table end allowing it to fold (the leg is highre than the table whwn folded for storage. it is easy to set up adjust / take down. i myself had to remove the rubber end caos to make it easier to break down the table for storage as they wanted to catch at the very end and not want to release the locking leg end to clear the table and fold up, however after removing the table has been a breeze to set up and take down.

We bought two of these tables and I had to return one because the mechanism that adjusts the height of the legs didn't work correctly. We realized the problem right away but when we went to return it to get another one, they were out of that color so I had to change. The next table works just right. It's a little awkward to insert the bar that holds the legs up and it takes some hand strength to squeeze the trigger that positions it. Make sure you can do it without hurting yourself! The tables are perfect for our Deck and side table in the house and are quite sturdy.
