Review: No-nonsense budget phone - great! - Really happy with this phone and will be giving it to my grandparents. Packaging: When I received the mobile phone, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the box that it came in. It seemed that there would be quite a big package at first, given that it came with a docking hub etc., but everything was packed neatly and efficiently so that maximum space was used. I liked this as it felt more environmentally friendly and less bulky. I have similar positive comments about the packaging that the phone and other pieces came in. While I cannot comment on how environmentally friendly it is, it was nice that each individual piece was wrapped in a single piece of material that felt both durable and easy enough to open - perfect for the intended market. I felt like it was more than enough to hold the phone, charger, and hub secure enough in transit. Onto the design of the packaging itself, and it could do with some improvement. While a phone for senior people isn’t exactly the most thrilling topic in the world, I do think that something other than the very basic design on the front and minimal text other than warning signs is really something that will appeal many people. Perhaps a little more information on the back about why it is helpful to have a mobile phone on hand, or a picture on the front of a senior citizen on the phone with someone to showcase what the product can provide to people? Phone Design: I like the phone’s overall design a lot. I think it’s simple enough to understand what each button does immediately, and is clear enough that even those with eyesight on the poorer side would be able to manage to call their loved ones either for a weekly chat, or if something was wrong. The use of very simple buttons - up, down, options, exit - is a great choice to give the elderly folk who use this phone less to think about. I think about my grandparents when I see this phone, and after attempting to get them into the mobile phone era in the past, this phone has encouraged me to give it another go. They’ll be receiving this phone soon and I will update you on how that goes. The phone also feels rather sleek on the back, and each button feels secure. The quality does feel a little cheap, but I can’t exactly expect old folks to be throwing this phone around or dropping it a lot while out and about, so I imagine it will do well for a budget option. User Interface: The phone turns on with a simple ‘Welcome’ message, and from there you’re thrown into the main menu of the device. The front menu has the date, time, battery level, bluetooth connection - all the things you would expect from a simple phone, and the option to navigate to either the phone’s menu, or contacts. I think this is mostly simple to navigate, with little room for error when it comes to teaching your older folks how to get around to calling their grandparents or sending a message to their friend to meet up for lunch. The menu is also fairly straightforward, with a simple up or down movement allowing the user to go to any of the nine other sub-menus to find what they need. While it might take a few tries to completely understand, I can’t see there being any long-term issues with the user interface as it is sleek, simple, and easy to follow. Features: For a budget phone that doesn’t claim to perform magic, it has a few nice little features that make it stand out against a rather oversaturated market. The SOS feature, located on a small button on the back of the phone, emits a rather loud droning beep if the button is held for several seconds. This could potentially be lifesaving if an elderly person had a bad fall or suddenly felt unwell, although I do feel like the placement of the button could lead it to be pressed accidentally from time to time. Perhaps at the very top of the phone would be a better place, as hands are much less likely to accidentally wander up there with general use. Another feature that I’m happy to see on the phone is a radio. My grandparents love listening to the radio, but they only tend to do so in the car. I’m excited to give them this phone and see if they use the radio feature while it’s on the hub in the living room. Hopefully they do and can give a full report on this feature! In the meantime though, I will say that the sound on the phone is actually better than I expected. Not incredible, sure, but decent for a budget phone. There are some other features that are nice to have on a phone, but I can’t necessarily see older people who ‘just want a phone’ using them. The image and video players are essentially obsolete as there is no way to record images or video, and it’s quite unlikely that users will add these to their device through Bluetooth if they already have them. The audio recorder is a nice touch though, and could be very useful in some situations. Finally, the basics: calculator, calendar, bluetooth connectivity, files explorer, world clock, and internet features. Nothing big to report here, just good features that you’d expect from any phone. No complaints! Overall Thoughts: Overall, it has to be said that this phone has surprised me. For a pretty budget choice, I don’t think you can really go wrong. I think it has plenty of accessibility for older folks to have a no-nonsense phone that allows them to keep in touch with their loved ones, and also has a nice set of additional features that both enhance their safety and quality of life. It could be a little nicer to look at, have more attractive packaging, or be a little more focused on their intended market with the features mentioned above, but at such a low price, who can argue? I’ll be giving this phone to my grandparents so that they can give a longer, and wiser, review on all the ins and outs of the phone after they’ve used it for a while.
Review: Simple, reliable, and ideal for seniors - This 4G mobile phone is a very practical option for elderly users. The large buttons, clear fonts, and high-volume loudspeaker make it very easy to use, even for those with visual or hearing difficulties. The dedicated SOS button is a great safety feature, allowing quick access to up to 5 emergency contacts with a single press. The charging dock with built-in speaker is especially convenient: simply place the phone in the cradle to recharge, answer calls, or listen to the radio and music with better sound quality. The dual SIM function also makes it versatile for both family and business use. Battery life is strong, with up to 200 hours on standby and 5-6 hours talk time. The phone also includes useful extras like a bright flashlight, FM radio, alarm clock, and 16GB storage. Overall, it’s a solid, user-friendly device that gives peace of mind and makes everyday communication easier for seniors.

I brought this for my 96 year old mum. Who manages to use it quite well. Although it says it is a loud phone, it could do with being a bit louder. There's loads of additional features but unfortunately they are easy to access and I would have preferred a standard phone ie phone and text only. As in the past she has got to the settings menu and changed things without realising it. Maybe the buttons could be a little bigger but it's 4G and it's not a bad little phone.
