Check the wattage!!!!
Not being an electrician I did not know about "wattage". This adapter is only rated for low wattage. I tried to use my hairdryer and it instantly shorted out and let off a puff of smoke that went right up to the fire alarm in the hotel. At 6:30 am I woke up the whole hotel and the manager did not know how to turn the alarm off so in this small town in the middle of New Zealand the siren awakened the volunteer fire department to come and turn it off !!!! All the people were standing outside in their pjs. We packed up and left as soon as we could !!! I spent the whole vacation without my hair dryer or curling iron.

Very happy with purchase.
I'm in New Zealand (traveling from Flagstaff, Az.) as I'm writing this review & have been using this adapter for the past week. It has worked very well all the while. It is made a lot better than the cheaper ones I've seen for purchase in the local tourist traps. Sure you might save a few dollars but they look flimsy. This one is built to last.

It worked
We just got back from a month in NZ and all of our electrical requirements were US. These got us through but they don't seem very robust and although we bought two of them neither one wanted to retain the 110 plugs or our chargers. We left them in our last hotel. There are much better options.
