Works great, quiet and powerful. If replacing a Haword the out port is up not on the side. Not a problem to re-plumb.

This pump was so much cheaper than Hayward, I had to give it a shot.The pump ran flawlessly this summer...if I get 3 years out of it, I'll be satisfied.Seems to run a little hotter, but I am satisfied with the performance.And at 1 1/2 HP, it provides greater flow than the 1 HP pump it replaced.

Motor seems very strong and IS VERRY quiet. I personally do not like the way the lid attaches to the strainer. So far I have not gotten a complete seal on the lid. There is always a drip. The oring is in the channel and lubricated with jacks 327 as recommended. I understand its all new straight cut plastic but it does not go on smoothly. Really thinking of swapping an old strainer assembly with the new pump. Then it would be 5 stars.I started this review 2 weeks ago and today I finally was able to get in the water and vac out the pool. After finishing I cleaned out the strainer and while still struggling to get the lid back on, it broke off a tab. No where on Vevor's web site does it show any parts availaibility so I called customer service. The girl was very nice and told me separate parts are only availiable from China and it would take 6-8 weeks"is that ok"?. I said no thanked her for her time and hung up. Now I have to get an aftermarket lid for my pump thats 2 months old. BIG MISTAKE BUYING THIS!!!

My mother has an 18 foot oval above ground pool. The pool is maybe 4.5 feet deep. After opening the pool this season, we noticed the factory pump housing was cracked at the debris basket area, and was leaking. It also was held together with a ratchet strap. I was looking for a replacement electric pump that would work. Local pool stores were quoting me 400 to 500 dollars for a replacement. I found this Vevor 1.5 HP pump on Amazon. For the price, I am thoroughly impressed. The build quality on the pump is great. The pump operates with out a hitch and is super quiet to run. This Vevor pump actually works better and is more powerful than the Hayward pump I replaced it with. For approximately 120 dollars, you can’t go wrong!

Bought this pump 6 months ago. Now it does not work. The impeller is free spinning. Even replaced the capacitor still does nothing but hum. Says it comes with 12 month warranty but good luck getting Vevor to help. They told me it is amazons responsibility to issue a refund but the window to return has closed. Called Amazon they said it is basically my problem nothing they can do!!!! Amazon why do you sell a product that the company will not endorse? If you don’t believe me do a quick google search of Amazon Vevor. This has happened to many people but they keep allowing this company to sell on there site. I thought I could trust Amazon but I was wrong. Heed my warning. Buy another brand.

I bought a cheap sand filter years ago from what ended up being a BestWay brand and it was a mistake, everything BUT the pump has failed. My sand filter is held together with hose clamps and JB Weld but the pump always did ok, until late last year it started leaking water and adding air to the outbound jet. I was going to get a new sand filter but honestly with all my repairs the rest works great now, but I needed a better/new pump. Most I saw that had reviews worth considering buying were $190 on up, I had a 1.5 HP pump and Googled the part number which lead me to Amazon and this product. It looked the same, I went with 2 HP and I'm not sure I've ever purchased something that worked so well as I expected. Same exact 4 hole pattern to mount to filter base, same exact size connection from pump to filter and an awesome ABS adapter that was very easy to convert to 1.5" PVC which fit perfectly inside that adapter. I decided to convert all the inlet plastic hoses over to PVC as well and now my above ground pool has the best system yet, and this pump was a lightning deal for $120.It's a tad louder than my last one but it's more powerful and doesn't leak water or air, I actually like that fact so I can tell if it's on or off the other one was too quiet. It is NOT too loud so don't take it as a negative, I freaking love this little pump!!!Oh and the outlet is so powerful it creates little whirlpools now and then.

Bought this pump in August 2022 to replace a Hayward that failed in 14 months. It is now August 2024 and this pump is still going strong. We open our pool in May and close it in late September or early October. This pump is still as quiet as when it was new. I was replacing the Hayward's almost every season. Not any more, not with this pump. If and when this one fails, I'll replace it with another from Vevor.
