Q: Does this item come in a model that will accommodate 4' logs?

The Brackets can be attached to any size logs. You are only ordering the brackets so you can attach any size 2x4s you want making it a very flexible system. Just keep in mind to find straight 2x4s so your first cut is straight.

Q: What is the gauge or thickness of the bracket?

Appears to be right at or a tiny bit less than ⅛". I have used these several times with very little issues.
