Easy leveling
I put the batteries in (not included). Read the directions . I pulled the arms out and set it on the floor. It blinked a few times when connected the smaller remote. Both devices let me know I was level.

Far from accurate for what it's meant for
I read the other 1 & 2 star reviews that said it wasn't accurate to the point where you can tell from a quick glance or by standing in your RV that it isn't level, but I decided to take a chance anyway.Knowing inaccuracy was a known issue, we tried it out immediately upon receiving it to make sure it works, especially due to the 30-day return window. It seemed to work fine on the kitchen floor of our home which is smooth and level.Fast forward to our first outing only to find out just as many others had stated that it isn't accurate enough for the intended purpose, despite repeated attempts at recalibration.Since returning home, I've tried it again on our kitchen floor. After following the Re-calibration procedure to the letter several times, it still shows as level on our kitchen floor as it should. The problem I believe is the device's overall sensitivity. While sitting on our home's kitchen floor with all lights showing Green (level), you can manually lift any leg nearly an inch before it says that it's no longer level. At that threshold, it's easy to see (and feel if you're standing in your RV) that it's not close enough to level, which of course is going to affect how your sink(s) and shower / bath drain as well, so this is serious flaw. *I can see this being useful only so much as to get it close if you're backing your RV into position by yourself onto leveling cams/blocks without a spotter and then either sighting it in manually afterwards using the leveling jacks and / or an alternate leveling indicator. This happened to be about 35 days since it arrived, which put us 5 days outside the return window. Factor in that we were camping in a remote area at the start of an 8-day outing and that put us even further out of the return window by time we got back. I was able to finally get a refund after dealing with Amazon for over 2hrs due to their return policy. I feel like a replacement product would most likely perform the same, as I've seen mentioned which is too bad, as this seemed like a great product. The packaging and instructions were top notch. It just didn't perform as expected.

Not worth the bucks
The concept is great and I like the remote but itâs not as accurate as I would like. All the lights stayed green even as I lifted the tongue to get it off the truck. It has to be way uneven before it registers high or low.

Updated
Simply, does not work. Use a standard level instead. Machine extremely inaccurate. No matter which direction we faced the machine as "front". The "front" was always too low. By the time the machine stated everything was level, doors were closing (or opening) by themselves. Grandchildren's toys were rolling by themselves.UPDATED: Interestingly, CARMTEK contacted me about my review after I returned the unit for refund. They stated that I failed to re-calibrate the machine and offered to send me out another machine...free of charge! I took them up on the offer and tried the new machine. It indicated that my 40 foot trailer was level in all directions. My standard levels indicate otherwise. I think the machine may be fine for smaller trailers, but just doesn't appear to be able to pick up nuances on the longer RVs/trailers.I would give customer service 5 stars...But I cannot give the machine that many.

good product
Iâve been wanting a device like this for a long time to help when parking my travel trailer so I was anxious to give this device a try.In the box: a remote unit, a base unit, instruction manual, and a small screwdriver. I almost missed the screwdriver as itâs discretely stuck into the side of the Styrofoam. No batteries are included. The remote and base unit each require three AAA batteries. To access the battery component, you need to remove a screw using the included screwdriver. The units seem sturdy and well made. In particular, the base unit is surprisingly hefty meaning it wonât be bumping and sliding around while youâre trying to park your RV. The arms seem a little floppy when extended, but I don't know if this affects its accuracy. The manual is one of the best Iâve seen. They went out of their way to make everything crystal clear. The system is easy to use. Just turn both units on and place the base unit on the RV floor. It works as advertised. There are LED lights for front/back/left/right. A light is active if that side is lower than the opposite side. For example, if left is lower than right, the left LED blinks and the right LED remains steady. The otherâs work similarly. The light colors correspond to three conditions: Green means level-ish. Yellow means not terrible. Red means not level at all. My cheap (not super accurate) angle measurement device indicates that Green occurs for angles less than 2 degrees, Yellow is for angles between 2.0 and about 3.5-4.0 degrees, and Red is for larger angles. Note that Green does not mean you're exactly level - it just means you're in the ballpark. If you need more accuracy then you'll have to find a device that reads out the actual angle. However, this is good enough for my purposes â I just need to get the trailer where itâs close to level (green) and then I can make minor leveling adjustments by hand (2 degrees is still a bit too slopey for comfort). The manual says that the transmitter range is up to 70 feet. I was able to put the base in the trailer and walk up the street for 120 feet before losing signal (using fresh batteries and the only obstruction is the pickup truck). There is no problem picking up the signal from the cab of my pickup when the trailer is attached (about a 30-40 ft distance). To turn off the unit the manual says to hold the button down for 2 seconds. I found this wasnât long enough and that 4 or 5 seconds was needed. To turn on the unit the manual says to hold the button down for 2 seconds. I found that holding the button down for just an instant causes it to come on. This is a small problem when storing the unit in the box since the button sticks out a bit and itâs very easy to accidently bump it and turn the device on without noticing. Fortunately, the unit has an auto shutoff after 10 minutes so it wonât keep running and wear down the battery.Bottom line:If you're looking for something that tells you when your trailer is exactly level, this is definitely not what you're looking for. For my purposes (mainly boondocking in undeveloped camping spots) I just need to know when I'm close to level - and this device seems to be just what I was looking for. Iâll report back after I get in a couple of camping trips.
