Versatile and Easy to Assemble
I bought two of these lamp repair kits, one to repair an old pink ceramic lamp that I've had since I was a child, and another to repair a wood and ceramic and glass torchiere lamp that I curb-shopped. In both cases it worked like a charm. It comes with a simple instruction insert for with a diagram and parts list. Assembly is more or less self explanatory with the included diagram. For me the hardest part was doing the underwriter's knot. I had to look up additional references online, and then I could do it. I used pretty much all the parts for the pink ceramic lamp, but I had to adapt the kit slightly to repair the torchiere lamp, because it doesn't use the harp that comes with the kit, but instead uses a milk-white glass lampshade which points upward. I managed this fairly easily by simply leaving out the parts that didn't work with my lamp.Best of all, these kits were very inexpensive; I think both kits together cost around $25. Really a great deal for two lamps that I needed to light up a very dark bedroom.
