Review: Pleasantly Surprised - I have used washes and inks and other semi-transparent paints for miniatures and had mixed results with those. I am not an expert painter, but paint a LOT of figures. I was was pleasantly surprised at how easy these were to use in a single pass to get nice results without a lot of fussing. IMO the semi-transparent paint seems to stay relatively where you put it and tends not to overly-'pool' up in crevasses of a model as some of the other brands do. For board gaming, it saves a lot of time and tedium in getting nice looking minis to the table vs having them sit half painted on a shelf. Review: Takes a bit to get used to - These paints are absolutely great. Thing is that you really need to spend some time to understand how much paint is needed to get the right results. It is a balance from a regular type of paint to flooding the area like a wash. You need to be careful since if it goes on too thin, the effect of the highlights won't come through. If too much, it floods the area since it is so thin. Once you get the hang of it, they are really great. Awesome that it comes with a really nice brush also. ## Features - YOUR GATEWAY TO SPEED PAINTING: This miniature paint set features 10 smart selection of colors to get you started in the world of speed painting - ALL-IN-ONE MODEL PAINT SET SOLUTION: Base, shadow and highlight your miniature and model in one coat - GET YOUR MODELS PAINTED IN RECORD TIME: Simply apply one coat over your primed mini and you're done! - FREE BRUSH INCLUDED: Army Painter brushes are excellent for rigorous detail work & freehand painting - NO MORE UNPAINTED MINIATURES: Ideal for painting warhammer 40k, bolt action & dnd paint set miniatures ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09LZCYQV4 | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Brand Name | The Army Painter | | Color | Assorted | | Container Type | Bottle | | Coverage | Good | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars (1,036) | | Finish Type | Matte | | Global Trade Identification Number | 05713799805408 | | Included Components | Brush | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Is Waterproof | False | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Volume | 18 Milliliters | | Manufacturer | The Army Painter | | Model Number | WP8054 | | Paint Type | Acrylic | | Part Number | WP8054 | | Size | 6.09 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) | | Special Features | Fast-Drying | | Specific Uses For Product | Pigments | | Surface Recommendation | Plastic | | Unit Count | 6.08652 Fluid Ounces | | Water Resistance Level | Not Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** The Army Painter - **Color:** Assorted - **Finish Type:** Matte - **Item Volume:** 18 Milliliters - **Paint Type:** Acrylic - **Size:** 6.09 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) - **Special Feature:** Fast-Drying - **Specific Uses For Product:** Pigments - **Surface Recommendation:** Plastic - **Unit Count:** 6.08652 Fluid Ounces ## Images ![Speedpaint Starter Set - 10x18ml Speed Model Paint Kit Pre Loaded with Mixing Balls and 1 Brush- Base, Shadow and Highlight in One Miniature and Model Paint Set for Plastic Models… - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81JgAr2gfdL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: How well do these work via airbrush? Or are they solely brushable? Thanks!** A: If properly thinned, they work very well through the airbrush. **Q: What is the "free gift" ?? It says the model is not included.** A: The free gift is a paint brush, and beginner's painting guide using Army Painter's particular method. **Q: Will i be receiving 2.0 or original?** A: This is the original set. It is still a great painting set though. **Q: Can you mix regular AP paints with the speed paints?** A: Yes, but it will lose the translucent properties ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pleasantly Surprised *by S***L on September 13, 2022* I have used washes and inks and other semi-transparent paints for miniatures and had mixed results with those.
