I loved how the engineers that designed the product and really took into consideration the variety of window-outlet-configurations any customer might have. Its versatile Hot-Air Outlet plastic section makes it a breeze to install in any sliding window. The unit provides powerful cooling as a functioning AC unit, and powerful airflow operating simply as a fan. It cools any small to med-sized room-space. It also handles dehumidification of ambient air nicely as well, allowing for maximal comfort (especially in bedrooms during the summer!) It is a reliable, easy to install/clean, and use unit!*I would suggest, in regards to future product improvement and customer ease-of-use, to recycle the evaporator's collection drainage-water over a small 1/2in paper-corrugated media located just before the condenser's airflow outlet-side (just before the Hot-air removal duct to the window). Just like water-basin evap fans do. This would allow the customer to operate the AC unit without any thought to potential water-accumulation or water drainage issues (though an additional small water recycler pump might have to be added).**My experience with the AC unit is that it doesn't produce a huge amount of drainage water (depending on humidity considerations), but my design suggestion is for eliminating any potential of that.*****LOVE the AC unit and the Customer Service Experience is Exceptionally Aboveboard!!! Works Perfectly!!

My house cannot have central air, it's old. The house get very hot and uncomfortable. This unit is great for cooling and my living room is large. I'm happy with my purchase

The media could not be loaded. I have a small half of a duplex in Berkeley (approximately 1000 sqft). If I put this device on high it brings the temperature down in the living room in about 20 minutes. Then I switch it to low. My office is a little warmer but a fan at the door makes it just fine. I close off the bedroom (the temp drops here at night).There's no way this unit, even on low, is quiet but it's worth it for the job it does.My main complaint is the window vent which is poorly designed. My window is 35 inches and I had to cut the insert to make it fit. It won't stay in place without a kludge. Since my window is behind a shelf i was able to prop a box against it to hold it in place (see photo). I was not going ruin the paint using the foam tape route that others have suggested. So this unit it portable in the sense that I can roll it into a closet when the two months of warm weather is done.I also needed to buy a metal theft protection bar for the window which has to stay open.

My son's apartment doesn't have AC in the bedrooms. Just a unit in the living room.When I sent this to him, he texted me the next morning saying "I slept with the covers on for the first time, Dad. Thanks!"Well worth it, and after 2 summers with it, it still runs perfectly, and quietly.

Changing review from a 1 star to a 5 star.I will say, the first unit and response was worthy of a one star review. I didn't receive feedback from customer service and the first unit didn't work. I did post that review and then did receive excellent customer service. The company replaced the unit and it works perfectly. I appreciate the follow up and the opportunity to experience the item as I expected it to be. Good looking, quiet unit.Error code E5. Won't stay running for more than 10 minutes, now only 30 seconds. No response from customer service. Unit looks nice and is good shape, but doesn't matter if it doesn't work.

I wanted to wait to do the review until we had a month to use the unit. We are very impressed. Our main a/c unit broke at end of summer while on vacation. I purchased this to get us by while we wait for the new unit to arrive early fall. My husband had to build the piece for the tube to fit our window. Painted the wood white to match our trim and as you can see it looks fine. It cools great and our family room double the size sf it claims to cool. It has served us well and we have no issues. It has 24/7 this month. We turn it up to 76 at night so the unit automatically turns off and on. We were shocked our electric bill went DOWN lol. Go figure.

I bought the 10k btu one. This portable AC is amazing and works better than I expected. So BTUs are important when buying a portable AC and it’s something in my opinion not to go cheap on. This upstreman device cools my entire living room but it’s a small living. I’m definitely buying another one for my room! I also got the warranty with Amazon for $33 and covers the AC unit for 3yrs on all parts and shipping. Also if it can’t be fixed you have the option of a replacement or a refund of the price you paid for it. Great product and I’m 100% happy with my purchase

That is the last time I order something this big thru Amazon . . . Lowe's here I come!!! I set it up, read the instructions, turned it on, I started to chill real good, then after about 30 minutes it stopped working and would not come back on.AND NOW, trying to return it, Amazon says that USPS will pick it up and to leave it at the Mail box . . One problem, I live in an apartment complex so that is not possible, and it was originally shipped by FedX. What a Mess. What a Mess!UPDATE:I got a full refund from the Manufacturer. This was a satisfactory outcome.
