The book didn’t come with a CD.
The book never came with a CD. Even though the front of the book says audio included. I guess they don’t sell the CD with it anymore. Still a good book though. My husband is the one playing and he really likes it. Just wish it had the CD.

Great book for harmonica beginners and to refresh reading tabs for all music
Beginning musicians need lots of books & videos to shorten the learning curve & practice time for any instrument - This book is a winner for the harmonica - well worth adding to your collection - you'll be playing a simple song after an hour of practicing from this book. Use the CD to get a feel of the rhythm and learn the basics. A few sips (not too much!) of wine (or any beverage) to relax a bit and keep your lips moist and you will be surprised at the music you can make in such a short time with this book. If you have grandchildren (I have two) they make a great audience for a short time. The older we are, the longer it takes to learn music, this book helps to get you playing faster.

OK For the Rank Beginner
Comprehensive first steps for the most basic of beginners. Very meticulous and slow paced. For me, I wanted to quit after a week or two because I found the pace to excruciatingly slow. However, I have been playing guitar for nearly 50 years and so the fundamentals were not very useful but are hard to ignore due to the value of the actual blow/draw exercises. So, a mixed bag for me, but a good product for the rank beginner with no music literacy at all.

Good Book
I like this book, just starting to play the harmonica to help my COPD, it goes deeper than I thought about reading music and learning the beats but it is really a good thing if you are going to really try to play and learn. I seen some reviews that the CD was a little boring but I find it so useful to help you learn the beat and timing. Has a lot of songs in it also.

Really good for absolute beginners
I bought a harmonica on a whim, wanting a portable instrument on my motorcycle. The harmonica fits the bill, and this book is really good at detailing how to hold it, how to blow and draw. However, I quickly went through the songs in it and had to move on. I would have liked more songs. But overall, this was just what I needed, when I couldn't learn what I needed from YouTube. Thank you!

more difficult than I expected
hitting those single notes I find is pretty difficult, and the instructions are kind of lacking in how best to achieve that, but maybe that's just me and I need more practice. I wish there were more songs to play that start off being easy in using 3 note chords because getting the pacing and switching to 3 note to 2 and 1 note changes how the song sounds and seems difficult to do all at once. There's a music CD with it but I haven't tried that yet.

Teaches the fundamentals well
Cheap and very easy to read and understand. Presented in a way that almost anyone could figure this out and before you know it you will be able to move on to any song you wish. It teaches you how to read the sheet music so after completing this book you can go online and find plenty of sheet music for your harmonica. Great for beginners or even those looking to refresh and relearn.

Awesome for beginners
Got a harmonica to play while solo camping with my pooch. Never played one before. But I already have some experience with music so this purchase was perfect. Lots of fun

Unsatisfactory sound track
I was disappointed with the sound track. The problem is that all the sound tracks are based on a keyboard and/or other instruments and when the harmonica is played it is so soft and in the background so that when I play my harmonica I cannot tell if I am playing the correct notes or not. The sound track for back ground when I am playing along would be OK, but not for learning I would like the first track to be a harmonica one, so I can compare my sounds with that of the authors. Then once I have learnt the tune and the notes on the harmonica I could play along. There are other harmonica teachers out there that do a better job of teaching, such as J P Allen.
