John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Visibly Brighter Bundle: Subtle Lightening Shampoo & Conditioner, 8.3 Ounce Each

Firstly, agreeing with the reviewers that say it is runnier than most shampoo/conditioners, and it does have a strong fragrance, neither which are deal-breakers for me IF! the product works, which I am happy to say, this product does. One reviewer said no matter how much she tried rinsing her hair, she didn't feel the product was out of her hair. Now that might be a deal breaker for most, but not for me. A quarter size drop of the shampoo really washes my very long, straight hair quite thoroughly, almost to the point I would say I could not leave my hair unconditioned at that point. So the conditioner is very handy and to me leaves my hair nourished, not waxy feeling. As far as the brightening, I was coming off a very brashy, cooper color so between the new color and these products, the result is very pleasing for me. I no longer have any brassiness and my hair is truer to my natural brunette with golden highlights, than it has been in years. Finished the first bottles and reordered a new set. Would highly recommend if none of those points were unbearable for you.

I was excited to try this after I saw results from a friend using the blonde version of this product. I used it everyday for a week and then went back to my normal washing schedule. I could see results slowly. The top is my hair now, and the bottom is what it looked like before. I'm not sure if it's because of the red below my hair or the way the product works, but it has some copper tones to it. I don't mind though. I like it! I paired this with sun bum hair lightener spray.Another thing I noticed is that this will leave a lot more residue on your scalp than other shampoos. I started washing my hair with apple cider vinegar shampoo right after using the shampoo and then moving on to the conditioner. I found it made my scalp less itchy and cleaner longer.

This shampoo and conditioner set did add some subtle golden tones to my naturally medium brown hair. But don't think it's comparable to a salon. If someone hasn't seen you in a month, their first reaction isn't going to be, "OMG! Your hair is lighter!" You and possibly your significant other may notice. I was most impressed with how soft, shiny, and healthy my hair looked. Like incredible shine. Did not care for the scent which is supposed to be honey (I think) but it's not terrible. Will purchase again.

After years of coloring my hair, and because of the COVID-19 (don't go to hair salon) I decided to let my hair grow and get back to my original color. My hair was growing back but it was very dark whereas I was a natural blonde before I used all kinds of colorations. It lightened the darker brown hair, and now I have reached light brown hair with golden blonde tones. It took me about 6 washes to notice a difference and it still continues to work. I also use the conditioner and my hair is soft and silky.

I haven't used it enough to know the results to my color, but right off the bat the texture of both the shampoo and conditioner is weird. For spending so much on shampoo, I would like it to make my hair feel clean, and for the conditioner to make my hair feel soft. It feels like there is a thick residue on my hair even after rinsing EXTENSIVELY. The feeling never changed. Gross.I bought this because I remembered using brilliant brunette when it first came out and loving it. What happened?

This did not change the color of my hair at all. I noticed no difference. I used it every time I washed my hair for a month but no change. It also seemed to dry my hair out a lot. My hair is medium to dark brown and it didn’t touch it.

This is a great product for someone who wants to enhance their natural color, but doesn't want to enslave themselves to the time and expense of a salon chair. I began using this product before I started going gray to add very subtle highlights to my dark brown hair. Now that I am going gray, it's part of my strategy (along with John Frieda luminous color glaze) to blend my grays in better so that I can age gracefully, again without the expense of fighting a never-ending battle against nature. I use these products every day, and my hair is strong and healthy. Just be aware, these products provide subtle enhancement. They are not meant to change your hair color.

Been using this product for years no longer can find it on the store shelves not sure why the price is a little bit high in my opinion that the effect is awesome for those of you traveling Airlines make sure you put them in another bottle it won't let you fly with both of them that size they took mine away LOL

If you keep using the product everyday you will def see a difference! I really quite love these products.
