Alumicolor Architect Triangular Hollow Drafting Scale, Aluminum, 18 inches, Silver (3040-1)

I've been practicing architecture for 17 years, and I had no idea that scales came in 18" lengths. This thing is amazing - Not only does it work great to rip 18" rolls of trace for sketching, but it also works great for measuring on 11x17 size drawings where a 12" scale is always seems to be an inch or two short. Construction is solid and attractive. Lines appear printed, not etched, so I will see how it lasts long-term.Not a good scale to bring to the job site. While you think the length would provide an advantage in contentious fights with the on site super, these things get really cold (or hot, depending) if left outside.

I draw alot of families place of residence in Pen and Ink. I often work from a drawing half the size of the finished product. The longer 18 " scale allows me to do the horizontal layout in my final product. I usually measure the original photo in 1/8" scale and draw the final product in 1/4" scale, doubling the size of original photo.

Not accurate enough

I had one of these and a friend liked it. I like it because it is very durable and easy to read. When you are dealing with large plans this is the tool to have! Love it and so did the receiver.

You'd think it'd be important to state the measurement system per line, but all there is are numbers on the ruler. No mention of if a line is mm, cm, or inches.

Sturdy and light weight. Nice for larger projects

Works as described, what else can I say?
