Q: What size are the ports? The supplied plugs are what size?

I'm pretty sure that they are 1/4" NPT pipe threads. I just took the base down to the hardware store and matched the thread with the barbed fittings.

Q: I need to install a water separator between the tank and high volume fuel pump. I've got a 1986 mercruiser 120hp. Is this what I need?

It should work very well for you. This is what I installed on my boat.

Q: Does this come with everything needed to install? i have a 2016 sun tracker fishin barge 20, with a 2015 mercury 60 hp command thrust motor.

If you have an internal fuel tank you will need a 1/4 NPT nipple with a diameter the same size as the tank fuel line in order to connect the filter to the fuel line from the tank. You will also have to use a 1/4 NPT nipple or obtain a portable fuel tank quick disconnect fitting for Mercury fuel hose to connect your motor fuel line to the outlet side of the filter.
