Didn't know I was buying a high school essay
Very misleading. Heard good things about the actual book, tried to buy it, got an essay instead. Every time I try to buy this book it's someone else's love letter to the actual book. Good way to trick people into buying your "book" though.

"So yeah, House of Leaves. Hell of a book."
House of Leaves is like an addiction. It pulls the reader in with the same kind of obsession that the characters themselves display. It leaves one with that incredible NEED for more while still being totally complete, so there's no way to resist picking up this book to be able to dig even further in, to get inside what it was like for someone else being the only way to go any further since all that was written. There's just no way that wasn't going to be amazing, though the text makes clear Seidlinger certainly felt more doubts along with way. This works marvelously though, a spot on mix of enough of the book to give a framework, thoughts and riffs on the book itself, links into writing, and links into writing this actual book. It's exactly what I would have wanted, though had no clue to ask for and thus in no way expected. The best part for me, and I may be completely wandering off on my own here, is the way it feels like it fits House of Leaves as an additional narrative layer, distinct and varied yet containing some of the same threads, as if an integral part of the total whole. I really got the feel that Seidlinger wrote this for House of Leaves as much as he wrote about it for his readers. Certainly more than I was expecting for a work of literary analysis and homage.

Caveat Lector
As one who is fairly new to recreational reading and even more a novice of buying e-books, I concede that this may be common practice that I am just not privy to. That said naming your book after an established and successful book seems a little shady. I was expecting the book with annotations or some study provided by the author. Not something that totally lacks the book I was searching for. Live and learn, though. I got Buck Fever when I saw the title and author and in the future I will be more aware of what I'm getting into before I chuck money at it.

Not the actual book, just a review, don't buy.
This is someone's review of the book "house of leaves". Misleading and predatory title.

Amazon should make it clear this isn't the actual book
Unless you are a hardcore fan of the book, skip this. I didn't see anything in the title or the description that said that this wasn't the actual book, but was just some idiot babbling on for what seemed like forever about a book he didn't write. Lots of typos and grammatical errors. I think this is in the top 5 worst books I've ever purchased. Total fraud.

Not only a tribute to one of the greatest literary works of our time, but glimpses into Mr. Seidlinger's own impressive process
Inspired by the book that provided the fuel for his own personal literary adventures, Michael Seidlinger not only deconstructs the labyrinthine complexities of the experimental meta-fiction, now classic, House of Leaves, he gives us a look into his own writing dilemmas. As the book develops, he describes his interpretations of the HoL events and how they shaped his love for reading as well as the struggles he stumbled into finding his own voice. Having fallen into my own obsession with Danielewski's HoL, I found myself relating quite closely to this return journey through it's dark and impossible hallways. Standing in it's own right, Seidlinger's book is not only an observation of another author's talents, it provided me with a very relate-able guide to navigating the problematic abyss of being a writer.

Do not buy
This is not the actual book. This is an analysis of the book, written by someone else.
