Amazing product to help get files off outdated firewire drives
This is the product I had been searching for, for a while. I had a huge stack of old firewire hard drives from 20yrs ago that have been sitting around. I'd been searching for cables to convert the hard drive to, when a friend said just get a bay and pull out the hard drive from the case, and you can convert it to USB from the hard drive bay. I went on YouTube to try and find the easiest way to convert my old firewire drives, and found this product in the video.I successfully removed the drives from all the enclosures and this product worked flawlessly. It's incredibly easy to use, the design is great, and I was able to get the USB-C version to connect it to my Macbook Pro. I've now backed up all data and couldn't recommend this product enough to those in similar situations.

HARD DRIVE ADAPTER - It works as advertised
Very impressive for the purchase price. I've been able to read IDE, EIDE and SATA drives without a problem. One thing to note is that you don't need an external power supply to power the non-SATA hard drives. The adapter supplies that power using a small pigtail (MOLEX) connector harness. So far I've tried it on Windows 7, 10 and 11 without a problem. I have an old XP laptop that I will try next.

Great tool for anyones arsenal
I received this item as scheduled new in box. The converter work great with SATA HDD/SSD drives. I also bought it for a spare internal 3.5 Blu-Ray DVD drive I have laying around and it works. However there is a fly in the ointment. If you unplug it then plug it back in it will not see the DVD drive. Apparently, it now thinks the DVD drive is a HDD and shows an unknown disk drive in Windows Disk Management and Device Manager now shows my Blu-ray drive under "Disk drives" instead of DVD/CD-ROM drives, where it was before unplugging. Only restarting the computer will sort this out. This will happen every time you unplug the DVD drive without restarting the computer; thus the 4 star rating. This is not an issue with HDD/SSD. FYI, I am using Windows 10 Home v.1511 and no longer have Win 7 to try this out on. So, I do not know if this issue is a Win 10 only thing. None the less, the product does work and is a good portable tool for my needs, and relatively inexpensive. With that said, I think they are charging too much for the IDE adapter. I guess that is due to low volume since most drives now are SATA. There are other products out there that will do both SATA/IDE but not 3.5 DVD burners. These units are usually only 5 volts and you need 12 volts for 3.5 DVD burners.

Small package, tons of power! Works great!
So many tools in one small package. I'm an old salt in IT, where tools exist, "a lot" of separate tools. Appreciate the combined support. Many thanks!

Makes is so simple to get data from old hard drives!
I had five old computers, ranging in age from 10 to 25 years. They were my previous PCs. Somehow I believed I would be able to pull the data off of those old PCS at some future point in time, but I had no idea how I was going to do it. So I kept them around and kept them in air-conditioned environments, and they were a royal pain. As time went along, I had less and less hope that I would be able to figure out how to get the data off of those old hard disks.I recently saw an advertisement for a device that would connect to old hard drives and allow you to plug them into the USB on your computer and treat them just like they were a flash drive. The device was cheap enough that I decided to order one. Wonder of wonders!I had seven hard disks that I scavenged from those five computers. This device plugged into all seven of them, even though they used three different interface technologies. Two of them were beyond rescue, but the other five came up just fine. I was able to recover a lot of data, including many old photographs I had taken over the past 25 years, like pictures of my kids when they were growing up. I am excited to get these files back and to finally get rid of these old computers. If you need data from old hard drives, I highly recommend this!
