Strong robust double leather skin gloves for tough work
The media could not be loaded. This pair of gloves is the real business when it comes to the hard-wearing thumb, palm and forefinger work. Most heavy-weight jobs use these three areas the most and these well-designed gloves give an extra layer of real thick cowhide leather to make sure the wear and tear is kept at bay. When I first put them on I noticed how stiff the forefinger felt due to the extra layers of leather but after a few minutes of use it soon softened up and became completely comfortable. I note and really like the extra stitching over the palms to keep that thick leather layer in placeThey also have a heavy canvas wrist area and lightweight backing material to allow the hands to breathe properly. So just to be clear these are REAL leather gloves, not that PU leather rubbish. They will last a long time and provide excellent protection due to the heavy grade of materials.Any complaints? The only thing to note is due to the extra stitching of the second layer of leather, the forefinger end does jam up against the inside stitching making it feel a bit uncomfortable. But again, I think this will adjust in time a s they are used. Recommended.

POOR STITCHING.
must be a bad batch, or where ever thease are Hand Mach8ne Stitched they are 9n peace work ? They must be putting thease through by the hundreds and lost track of Quality for Price. This is the first time I've worn them, moved some stuff around and went to pull them off and heard a Pop / Snap? And the threads bust open between the Right Hand Thumb and 1 st Finger. Not impressed. But their dirty now so I'm stuffed with them ?

Good, strong gloves for tough work ...
These short gauntlet rigger gloves aren't cheap, but they are very good quality. The leather is thick and the seams are well-stitiched. I wanted them specifically for tackling things in the garden like Rosa rugosa hedging, hawthorn and Pyracantha (which has some vicious thorns) and when I took them out to try them in the garden, they passed with flying colours: no thorns penetrated the gloves. They wouldn't be suitable for all tough gardening jobs, due to the shortness of the gauntlets on them, but for protecting your hands when digging, or for jobs like loading cuttings into a trailer to go down to the dump, they're ideal. They only seem to be offered in one size - 9/L. They're fine for me, if a little broad, because I have long fingers, and find that gloves which fit me across the palm are always too short in the finger ... but for anyone with small hands, this size would be too big, I think. They're primarily designed for men's hands and would fit an average man's hand well. With that caveat ... recommended.

Thick but not as tough with the stitching
Brought these to use whilst gardening, particularly trimming a couple of hedges which have some pretty pointy thorns. The gloves feel heavy duty and the material on the palms and fingers is pretty robust. However after 3 uses the stitching/ where it joins the back of the glove has come away on 2 of the fingers. See pictures. Whilst annoying that they have done this they're still useable and haven't had anything get through the palm and fingers when using.

'Up-market' rigger gloves, flexible and well-fitting
These gloves are probably meant as commercial PPE as they quote the EC388 protection designation. On that basis, they will provide good protection for home use. The underside of the wrist, palm, knuckles, and underside of the fingers and finger tips are well protected with quite a thick leather. Parts of the fingers and a small part of the back of the hand are covered by heavy duty fabric. These are (large) size 9 which is my usual hand size and they are a good fit. Although they look more suitable for manual handling such as breeze blocks and using a shovel, I tried them using a battery STIHL long-reach hedge cutter. The index finger on the trigger was a litlle tight, but the rest of the fit was fine. During the winter I volunteer for scrub clearance in a nature reserve, and from experience, I've no doubt that blackthorn would penetrate the fabric on the back of the hand. Other than that, these gloves will be part of my volunteering PPE.
