Emmanuel: An Invitation to Prepare Him Room at Christmas and Always

Purchased this for my wife as Christmas devotional after spending a time checking out the author. Many devotional writers claim to be 'Christian' but their books are anything but. Ms Chou Simons seemed to be very authentic and Biblically sound so I bought her book. Wow! My wife and I both read each daily devotional, praying God would draw us closer to Him and help us deepen our understanding of His gift at Christmas: Jesus. Each day was very thought provoking and pointed us towards a much closer and deeper relationship with the Lord. And we woke Christmas morning with a first thought of how special I felt because Jesus came to earth to offer me an opportunity to be reunited with God even though I am a sinful man. What a wonderfully precious devotional.

Her books don’t disappoint! The art work inside and out is gorgeous and the text is truth and up lifting. This book would also make a wonderful gift.

Ruth does a beautiful job with capturing the longings of our hearts this time of year and pointing us back to the only One who can fulfill them, Jesus! I love how each day has a question to ponder, a prayer, and a song to listen to - just perfect!

The book itself is beautiful: hardcover and filled with Ruth’s watercolors. It was a gift to me and I have already purchased and given a copy to a friend as a gift! It is encouraging but also deep and meaningful! I am wanting my Bible study to read it together next Advent! Highly recommend as a gift or for your self!

I read this to my wife every morning during Advent as we lit the candles in our Advent wreath. It was a wonderful addition to our morning Bible reading time.

My daughter bought this book for me a couple of years ago. It is the beautiful story of Jesus and the illustrations are beautiful. I purchased this one for my sister. She doesn’t live near me. We began to read it every morning at the same time. It made us feel connected for Christmas.

I was drawn to this book because of its artistic beauty but the profound words and thought-provoking writings have brought my mind to the place where I dwell on Immanuel, God With Us. I'm so thankful she wrote this book and illustrated it so beautifully and shared it with us.

This book is absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to start celebrating advent each day using the reflections and devotionals in it. It is a lovely new tradition we are implementing in my home. I will definitely gift it to others in future seasons and can see us using it for years to come.
