Yes it is soft I am 5”2 and it comes up to my chest.

Is this washer safe? If I wash it will any of the fur melt or distort?

I'm honestly not sure, because I haven't had mine long enough to wash it. It isn't very good quality and isn't very well made, if that helps. Not sure if it would hold up in the washer...
