Diamond Multimedia Free Over-The-Air Digital HDTV Tuner for Windows PC (TVW750USBD)

I spend time occasionally in a place without wifi or a tv, so being able to use my PC to get local channels is a great thing. The kit arrived on time with all of the parts - but I wasn't able to download the s/w online (via my phone hotspot) and get it to work. Had to go spend another $25 to purchase an external CD/DVD drive, but after that it worked like a charm (and this is why I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars). Picked up 43 channels here in suburban Nashville. I added a little external Bose speaker to amplify the sound and it's just like home, albeit with a smaller (13") screen. Getting the CD/DVD drive wasn't a total loss - I picked up a copy of Season 1 of The Orville on DVD and am looking forward to a mini-binge.

The device worked but, after installing, other Windows Media Player Movie Clips (wmv) did not play on the PC, in that the audio tracks were eliminated so that when played there was no Audio. Also the .wmv file saved when you recorded are in an unsupported CODEC. You can play the recorded shows thru their interface, but not thru Windows Media Player. There seems to be no way to contact their Tech Support about these issues. Another annoying problem is that when you try to schedule a show to record, they do not allow you to easily select the channel you want. In my area channel 2.1 is ABC, but they list it as some odd number, you have to cycle thru all the channels to find the channel you want. Also when your watching the tv, and hit the PLUS or up button, you would think that it would go from 2.2 to 2.2 then 2.3 and so on, but what it does is jump around to random numbers.

Works really well, installed fast. Device gets hot so I’m not sure how long it will last. There are fixes out there that seem to help, like taking the case apart and cutting ventilation slots. I may try that, if it didn’t run so hot, I would give 5 stars.

Very weak, only got the really close and strong stations, out of 75 my TV gets it could only bring in about 20. It also got very hot and quit working after about an hour, I sent it back, got the Hauppouge WinTV. More money but works great, gets all the stations.

This item works if you follow the instructions. You have to have a good source for digital TV. You can also attach your own antenna instead of the small one that comes with the system. Don't pay for local channels again!!

I could not get Windows 10 to recognize this tuner. I have two other tuner brands that work so I gave up on this product.

Great tuner! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the software in rather clunky, but then again it does what it is supposed to.

installed but does not work. got a stronger antenna and still will not work. waste of money.
