First day out we caught catfish and buffalo with this rig. The bite alert is a great feature. Drag was a little tight to adjust at first, but loosened up by fish #4. This combo is great for still fishing from a boat or the bank. Would not want to use it to cast lures. But if you are casting and waiting, this combo really can't be beat for the money and ease of use.

I bought this for my husband for Father’s Day. He said it works great.

This pole is massive. I took it out yesterday. It’s so heavy it feels like a workout but I’m ok with that. I’m getting casting down it seemed to not go out as far as my 10 dollar reel at first but I changed the way I cast and am getting better. It seems to be good quality for a 40 dollar pole. I will know more when or if I catch a fish with it. I really prefer casting with my little cheap pole but that thing does not bring fish in very well. I might try this reel on that pole. See how that goes. We shall see. More practice. Will update when I catch something.

Great for fisherman on a budget, I really like this rod and reel. I've been using Zebcos since I was a kid, good quality for a good price.
