Good for the money
Good replacement WiFi access point to use with Virgin Media Superhub 3 which delivers notoriously poor WiFi speeds due to a chipset bug.Uses Dynamic Frequency Selection if you switch it on, which will give you a totally clear 5GHz channel.Nice user interface, sturdy build, decent WiFi speeds - we get 300Mb/s throughout our terrace house.

Awful Connection Issues
Worked perfectly for about a month, after which it has kept disconnecting randomly. Always have to unplug and replug the cable, and turn it off and on again. Might as well get a different router that will work reliably.

Really easy to setup and performance is great
Purchased this unit because my sister-in-law was getting buffering on her TV. For some reason, her internet connection was upstairs in the loft and the wireless was struggling to provide a fast, stable wireless signal through two floors in her house. The setup process was really simple, connect the main device to the Virgin box using the ethernet cable provided, download the app and power it on and follow the instructions. THE WHOLE PROCESS TOOK 5 MINS FROM START TO FINISH. The signal was so much better than the original Virgin box, so now the TV doesn't buffer anymore and the 250Mbps connection she has is available throughout the house. The biggest challenge was moving everything over to the new SSID. Great product definitely recommend it to my friends.

Not an easy set up if you are plugging it into a modem/router combo
AC1200 reviewThis seems to have been made for when ISP's modems were separate from their routers. In which case the instructions are probably fine. However if your ISP's router has the modem built in, as most, if not all, have these days the included instructions aren't going to work. Or maybe cable modems are still separate but I don’t have cable so I can’t comment on that.I'm using a SKY router with a built in ADSL modem, I've turned off the wireless on that (it’s really very bad) and am using the D-link to provide the wireless and as an extra 3 LAN ports (3 because the sky router is plugged into one of them) If you intend to use your ISP's router/modem combo you need to ignore the instructions and plug the cable into one of the LAN ports, not the yellow internet port. You also need to ignore the warning on the router management configuration page that you don't have it set up correctly. If you don’t want to use it as a DCHP server either (which you won’t in the above scenario) you have to turn a lot of things off in the config. You need to give it an IP address in the same range as your main router.Turn off the internet settingsTurn off the firewallTurn off UPnPTurn off the DCHP server (do this last or you won’t be able to log back in to the config page)It’s all a bit of a pain to get working properly. Once all that is done though it seems to work fine. I only just plumbed it all in so I won't review its features or durability.

Easy to setup, cheap but WiFi penetration poor
It is very easy to set up, very little to do for a basic working WiFi extender. The issue is signal from wifi, it is pretty poor. Their older model was far better, I put them side by side and had double the distance.

Great value Gigabit Ethernet and WiFi router
Was looking for a router with Gigabit Ethernet as well as being compact enough to fit into a cabinet in the hall. The management software, accessed through the browser, is good and was able to download and apply several firmware updates over the months I've had it. It has proved reliable, and a huge improvement on the ISP provided router. There's a great feature for scheduling a reboot every week which I think ensures reliability - I have mine reboot early in the morning on Mondays. And there's a decent feature that lets you prioritise devices for QoC.The signal is good - I used an Android app on my phone to see WiFi signal strength and using this was able to position the antennas in the most optimal way to get the best signal for both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. It's proven to be great to the point I forget about it and only ever log into the management console because my ISP router - now in modem mode - fails and I'm checking things over. The only small negative was that by default the firewall protections were not enabled. Do this as soon as you get it and you'll be fine.

Avoid range is useless and they keep dropping off the network !
I bought a 3 pack of these ,they are useless honestly 20feet from the router and they just keep dropping off the network and flashing !!! forget trying to use upstairs or even out to the garden ! Avoid by something better that actully works correctly !

This router is really great as a fast WiFi access point and switch
I bought this router to use as a fast access point.Due to the 1GB ethernet ports, this router can be wired directly into your home network and be reconfigured as a Wireless Access Point and Ethernet switch. As this is my use scenario please only rate my review based on this information.I have found the web interface easy to use, backup and reconfigure. The only minor issue was changing the network address from a zero to a one as it conflicted with the WAN. I solved this by changing the WAN to a 2, I was then able to reconfigure the local network to a one. Example: 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1I also had to turn off the local DHCP server which again was very easy to do.The router itself looks smart and feels well made. It has worked well for the last few weeks I hope it keeps going strong. So would I recommend or buy again, for this use scenario yes definitely and as a router, I would certainly give it a go.
