I bake bread for farmer's markets and go through 2 cases every month. Lately I have noticed the quality has not been consistent. The bags will vary in thickness from almost too thick to very thin, the gusset is sealed way too far down on the bag or dozens of bags have been slit. Overall this is a good bag for the price but you still get frustrated when you have to throw out dozens of bags. Is this really a good deal after all??? Currently looking for another source.

The media could not be loaded.  Usually these are great, unfortunately every other bags we got this time are an inch different in diameter than the first bag. So, 500 bags don't fit our product and 500 do.

I have been milling wheat into flour and baking freah bread on a fairly regular basis at home. I got really sick of wrapping loaves in Saran/Glad wrap because my lovely children would cut off a hunk of bread, and somehow find it impossible to ever re-wrap the remaining loaf completely. I just love it when a piece of bread has a dry spot on it (not!). So I measured my bread pans and bought this huge box of bread bags. They work perfectly, and are second only to the bread slicer I now use to get uniform pieces of bread, because my sweet children can't seem to cut the bread straight either-lol! If I ever run out, I would buy this product again.PS: I do not bake the bread in my breadmachine. I only use it to make dough and do the final rise/baking in regular bread pans. If you bake in your machine, measure the baking canister to make sure the bread will fit in these bags. There are other sizes available if these are not the right dimension for you.

I make all my own bread and have been totally frustrated by the so-called "bread bags" I have found in the grocery stores. I've tried every brand and NONE of them would fit my loaves of bread. I had never (well, until recently) thought of trying to see if I could find something on Amazon! I figured I'd give these a try and, boy, am I glad I did. They work PERFECTLY! Given the number of them in a box, I was afraid I'd have trouble finding a place to store them, but they come in a box that's only 6" x 7" x 9". The bags are not loose, but folded so that you can grab as many or few as you want. At the rate of about 8-10 loaves a month, these will last me, literally, years :-O. I found others that had only 100 in a box, but they were the same price as these! I am very pleased with the cost for these, the quality is good, and I would definitely recommend them.

When I read the reviews that these bags were perfect for homemade bread loaves, I bought them. I figured even if they were on the thin side, which they are, I could double them up and still save money. I bake for the freezer and for friends. My freezer breads are sealed in foodsaver bags, which are a bit pricey. I thought these would be good as give a ways. Unfortunately, my breads don't fit in these bags with enough room to close and tie them. Now I've spent $26. for 1000 bags that I really have no use for. Live and learn I guess. Hope this review helps someone.

These bags fit my homemade bread loaves perfectly. They are also useful for repackaging other items as well. They are not extremely heavy but are a fine weight for bread storage.

Other reviews were misleading. These bags are too small for my larger 5"x10" William Sonoma loaf pans. I have to split the loaves into 2 bags. The pleating allows expansion around but eats up all the length.
