Paradise Diced Citron, 8 Ounce

I thought I didn't like preserved fruit. Who hasn't heard all those fruitcake jokes? But the British recipes I was hoping to make called for this. What a difference! The fruit bits are firm and tasty. No sticky, gluey fruit that looks like it belongs in a cocktail lounge drink. This fruit added a bright citrus note and just enough firmness to the teeth. It was a lovely surprise. The loaves of fruit bread were such a success with my fruitcake-hating family that I have used several tubs of this and now I buy the bigger tub! The English blend is really good, too. Don't fear the fruit!

Pretty little green dices of citron with good flavor and a soft bite to them. Would buy again.

These have very little flavor, but they add texture to cookies.

I ordered this fruit for homemade stollen at the holidays. I had never used it before or made the bread and it was very tasty. The bread recipe is not that sweet and said the bread gets it light sweetness from the fruit and improves over a few days time and it was true. This is not a fruit cake but a light yeast bread, a tradition in some European countries. I'll be making more of it using this fruit! Already diced and ready to use!

This item was what I expected it to be: candied citron. I almost did not buy it because the listing is misleading and confusing. The options in the listing are described as “orange” and “cherry”. I selected “cherry” because the photo looked like the citron I’ve ordered in the past. This item is not cherry flavored. On the top of the lid there is a recipe for cherry bread or cake that can be made with the citron and other ingredients. I suggest the listing be corrected. Thanks. I use the citron every year to make a German Christmas cookie recipe and the product is consistently good and it arrived very quickly.

Without this amazing citron, my Italian ricotta pie would have been a disaster.This year’s citron was very moist and fresh and bursting with flavor. Nothing but raves from the neighborhood and my pupils!
