Beginners friendly drone
This is my first drone ever. The HS440 is very easy to manoeuvre and it is quite quiet and stable. It does not have GPS onboard, so drift is to be expected when it is hovering. But I have tried it in the park when there was no wind and it stayed at one place for quite a while before the wind eventually moved it. If flying indoors, the wind from the propeller will create air flow in the room and will move the drone, so constant adjustment is needed. The drone comes with two batteries, each lasts for about 15-20 minutes of play time, so quite a long flight time from two. Each takes a couple of hours to charge, but there are also two charging cables provided so both batteries can be charged at same time. Just need charging adaptor which is not supplied. The controller takes 3 AAA batteries to operate. It is intuitive and not cluttered so all functions are easy to find. The manual says that transmitter range is 100m when unobstructed. The manual is easy to follow. Remember to do pre-flight checks as specified in the manual before every flight. Especially setting up the gyro pre flight which must be done on flat surface. The drone is pretty well built and versatile for the price (around £80 when I bought it). I have crashed the drone many times to doors, walls, trees and other objects (not intentionally of course) when I learned to fly it in first few attempts. Also, it once dropped from about 3m height propeller first. So far, it is still flying well and I do not see a single scratch on it.4 sets of spare propellers are supplied with a small screwdriver for changing the propellers. Propellers are coded, so the right propeller must be installed on the right motor. In the UK, operator ID is needed (£10 per year at time of writing this review) since the drone has a camera onboard. I like the fact that the angle of the camera can be operated remotely to face forward or down (90 degree) and anything in between. It is one of the reasons I bought it. The quality of the camera is also very good for the price. I think it is 1080 HD. Also, there is a slot for micro SD card at the bottom of the drone to save the files or you can connect to your mobile phone via the app and save the photos/videos on the phone. The app is quite easy to use and very easy to pair via the droone wifi. The drone can also be controlled using your phone app once paired, which is handy, and there seems to be no lag between the app control and the drone, although I have not used it often. I prefer to use the transmitter/controller while my phone is only used to see what photos or videos I am taking.Overall I am very happy with it. It is an excellent drone in its class in my opinion.

Malfunction on third flight.
This product was very good. Easy to learn probably could have done with a bit more sensitivity. But third flight with no crashes I had a motor failure while flying. This resulted in the drone flying off and being irritreivable. Very dissapointed with this product as had own flown twice before. :(

Great drone for a beginner at a great price.
As a first-time drone owner, I couldn't have asked for a better experience than what I found with HS440. From the moment I took it out of the box, I was impressed by its sleek design and user-friendly interface. Setting it up was a breeze, thanks to the straightforward instructions provided. What truly sets this drone apart is its exceptional battery life. I was pleasantly surprised by how long I could fly it on a single charge, allowing me ample time to capture breathtaking aerial footage without worrying about running out of power mid-flight.Despite its affordable price tag, the HS440 doesn't compromise on quality. The built-in features make piloting a joy, even for beginners like me. Whether I'm taking sweeping landscape shots or filming action-packed adventures, this drone delivers smooth, professional-quality footage every time.Additionally, I appreciate the durability of this drone. It's survived a few accidental bumps and scrapes without any damage, further highlighting its reliability and resilience.Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you're in the market for a drone that combines ease of use, impressive battery life, and great value for money. That said, I am not looking for a more advanced model.

Probably good for the price. Misleading 1080p claim - only if you have an SD card.
The media could not be loaded. After looking at a lot of drones it was apparent that they fall into three categories:1) Cheap, and probably rubbish, toys.2) Better, entry level drones but still toys.3) Very good up to professional for serious £££I think this sits firmly in 2. It is a fun toy.It took a bit of getting used to, not helped by the awful manual (especially the important section on how to trim it being explained completely the wrong way around! FYI move the right stick BEFORE holding down the trim button!). We couldn't get it to display video on a phone despite it being connected okay. I had to raise it with support who said the phone had to be in airplane (sic) mode with wi-fi switched on. This vital point is not mentioned in the manual at all!!You don't have to have a phone connected to fly it, you can do that just with the remote control. But if you want to record video/take pictures you need the phone connected.Video saves to your phone and the quality seemed terrible, and was NOT 1080p. However... the drone has an SD card slot (NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE IN THE PRODUCT DETAILS!!) and it turns out that if you record to that you get 1080p, if you record to your phone you don't! Again, not mentioned ANYWHERE. I only found this out when asking a question here about how to record. (Where are the Q&A's Amazon?).Holy Stone Support were excellent when I contacted them about the phone not connecting, and not recording to SD card. 10/10 for support. There doesn't seem to be any way of telling it which to record to; it records to both, and you need the phone connected even if you only want to record to the SD card. If you have no card in then it records (in poor quality) to the phone. All of this I have had to find out via trial and error, and questions on internet forums. The documentation is woeful. The video attached is from the SD Card. Amazon won't allow two videos in a review, but trust me this is 1080p recorded to the SD card, so as good as it gets. The version recorded to the phone is worse.Worth the money? Yes, this is probably better than some for this money, and once you have got the hang of it (and there is zero breeze) it is a fun thing. Seriously though I have never bought a product and had to do so much research to find out about it's basic functions!
