It's well made, but the wooden handle is not secured.. for the money, it's fine though. I'll just drill a hole and screw it together. A fringe benefit is, it allows me to add a longer handle if I want.

(This review is for both the shovel and ladle that I purchased)Fan-damn-tastic! Well made & heavy duty. Welded joints are smooth and polished. Yes, some grinding marks are vaguely visible and only enhance the authentic appearance. Way heavier and stronger than utensils that came with my wok. I've read some complaints about the wood insert coming out, it's important to maintain any natural material!! I tried to twist and pull the wood insert out and it doesn't budge. I oiled the wood insert upon arrival and expect this will decrease possibility of shrinkage which can result in insert coming out. If wood insert becomes loose, bang it back in and soak in water to swell, it's really not a big deal. Keep in mind, metal will expand with heat, that's the time to snug it back in. Obvious at first sight, his is an excellent kitchen tool. Most home cooks may want to consider #2 for lighter weight comfort. I wanted the extra length so decided on #3. I got #3 (15.5in) because I thought the #2 (17in) might be a little awkward in my kitchen. I love the size, and the quality is terrific. Just be aware that apparently every size uses the same metal part and different length wooden handles - I expected this one to have more wood based on the photos from the seller. As you can see, my hand still grips the metal - not a problem, it didn't get hot, but still seemed odd. I'll get used to it. Also, the Amazon button says "16.75in" but this is 15.5in as per the description.Make sure your wok is well-seasoned - a few spots that aren't seasoned enough got some scratches with a tiny bit of burring, but nothing to worry about, I think they will wear out over time. I do like this size for indoors, but I'll probably get the #2 when I move my wok setup outdoors in a few weeks. Overall a very solid feel, well-made, just don't be surprised if the pictures don't match the product you receive.

I bought this thinking (naturally) that it was dishwasher-able. My other wok shovel had a rivet that held the wooden part on. This doesn't. The wooden part comes off and so washing it in the dishwasher will make it come apart and the metal tube would fill with water. Kind of disappointing.

Thick gauge stainless that is welded and not just rolled. Smooth wood handle is easy to remove and easy to secure. Professional level tool.

I bought two of these and the handles fell off the first day, on both of them. I'm going to use some epoxy to glue them back, but come on, the first day?

We went through about 4 iron utensils of the same kind that would were strong at first, but were brittle and start cracking and eventually breaking. This is lighter, easier to use, stronger and just overall better. And for the price it's a steal.
