Better than cowboy coffee, easier than a French press...
Great for off grid. Drop in a K-Cup, add boiling water, and slowly press down. The slower you press, the stronger your cup-o-joe. Rinses clean while I am off grid, gets tossed in the top rack of the dishwasher when I get home. Base is extra wide, so it fits on top of most coffee cups, even my double walled aluminum camp mugs. Light weight, so it doesn't add much weight to the pack/kit, BUT - K-Cups and this press do take up more space than a 1Lb of grounds and a SS filter. So if you are tight on space, you may stick with cowboy coffee or a pour-over filter.

Great when a K-Cup brewer isn't available (camping, overseas travel, etc.)
Great device for traveling with K-cups. All you need is a hot water kettle and your K-cups of choice and you can make your beverage anywhere. I love the addition of the loose coffee/tea stainless adapter so you can fill it with whatever you like if you've run out of pre-packaged K-cups. I usually fill the unit with 10oz. of boiling water because I like stronger coffee, but it will take more water if you have a bigger cup. The only small issue I have with this device is I wish the plastic needle that punctures the top of the K-cup to fill it with water was a little smaller so that the flow was reduced to make the beverage a bit stronger. The needle looks to be about twice the size, (flow rate) of an actual K-cup brewing machine....regardless, in a pinch it makes a respectable cup of coffee when you don't have a machine handy.

Fabulous!
I already have an Aero Press, which I love. But this is twice as good.Pros:1. You can use both regular K cups while traveling and this works great.2. The coffee filter is larger, so you can make a really strong cup.3. The base is bigger and has a curved lip, so it will fit over larger mugs and not slip around,4. Better than in a Keurig maker, because you get the great flavor that comes from pressing.Cons:1. It’s bigger than the Aero Press, so it will take up more room if traveling or camping. .2. Wish it came in a hard case to prevent getting cracked.Very happy with it.

Quicker and Easier than a Keurig.
I have had a number of Keurig or Keurig-like coffee makers in the last 10 years. They have these two significant issues. First, you have to descale them often, especially if your water is hard. Second, eventually, they quit pumping water, and the coffee maker is thrown away. This is my second one of these. I went back to it because I already have a kettle for its multiple-purpose uses. It heats up fast, and then I can make my cup of coffee. It takes only seconds to make a perfect cup.The Coffee Maker Press can be washed daily in the dishwasher or rinsed and reused. It is plastic, and I would have preferred to buy a stainless steel version, but could not find one like this. Hopefully, this company or another will make one in the future with replaceable silicone rings so that it never has to end up in the landfill. Two notes on best practices. First, always level an air gap between the hot water and the end of the plunger. This helps ensure that you do not burn yourself. Next, push the plunger down in a slow even fashion . . . by slow, take five to ten seconds instead of two. And third, remove the water tower and plunger from the base before pulling the plunger back out. Pulling the plunger out when it is still on the base can suck the grounds back up into the water tower, which is not a huge problem, just messy.Enjoy. Great product.

Better than machine
Makes coffee so fast using any K-cup pods. Simple to use. Easy to clean. Perfect combination with my hot water dispenser. I don't have to deal with cleaning machine and worry about water sitting in its tank.

Best travel coffee maker!
Absolutely love, love this coffee press! Takes K-pods as well as refillable pods with filters. Suprised as well with the strong flavor (using bold coffee) And so well priced! Will take on RV road trip as I have limited electric, so using the propane stove for heating water. This item will guarantee great am coffee while traveling! Would buy again!

Best design for a portable, manual (non-electric) K-cup coffee maker
This Blacksmith Family coffee maker is simple and not too hard to use. Use it a couple of times (and probably make some mistakes) and you'll master it pretty quickly. It is, in my humble opinion, the best design for a small, portable, manual coffee maker for home or camping. It uses Keurig K-cups for the ultimate in convenience, or use your favorite ground coffee in the included K-cup adapters which, by-the-way, produced the best cup of coffee I've ever had!So then, why did I only give it one star? The water reservoir cracked after only three or four uses. I heat up my water in a teapot and pour the water into the reservoir. It was HOT water, mind you, NOT boiling water, so the reservoir shouldn't have cracked. Too bad...I got rid of my counter space-hogging Keurig coffee maker (the smallest machine Keurig makes) and replaced it with this Blacksmith Family coffee maker, which uses maybe a tenth of the counter space (if that much).Blacksmith Family should really make this otherwise excellent coffee maker out of nylon or some other plastic material that isn't so thermally fragile. Better yet, make it out of stainless steel and it would easily be the best single-serve coffee maker on the market!
