Really good dashcam
A cool magnetic mount and excellent picture quality. After a couple of months I had a problem. Reported it to the technical helpline and had a response within 24 hours giving a firmware update which cured the problem. Really great customer service.

Early days, but good so far
The cable has a Cigar lighter plug, with a USB slot on the top for other accessories. I think a USB cable would have been better, then include a USB/Cigar lighter adaptor. The cable was only just about long enough to reach the socket under the centre armrest. An extra 30cm would have been great. The manual on the Amazon page is limited. The better one to use is as below:https://www.ringautomotive.com/files/mydocs/RSDC3000_user_manual.pdfThe manual or amazon description doesn’t describe what ADAS is, so I emailed Ring and they responded the following day to say it was Advanced Driver Assist program which makes a noise if you stray out of your lane and can be switched off if required.I must admit, since installing it, I haven't played around with it. I did quickly download one video, and it looked good. I did this via the WiFi option, which was a little slow. I would imagine realistically you would be better to remove the SD Card and plug directly into a computer.

It's a Dashcam!
Fixed it into car, screen flashed "update" so I let it and it never worked again. Contacted agent, who said it was jiggered and to just order a replacement. It came next day, fitted it into car and all was well. Original returned to Amazon and that was that.

Camera unable to focus on road. Quality is terrible with rear camera in use!
The media could not be loaded. The camera that films your screen not the road. In the video clip is a prime example of how using this camera is problematical. The quality is not high enough and the focus is not on infinity. When you add the rear camera it zapps the front to the point of very poor quality indeed this is not 1080 this is not even 480 (see for yourself) maybe 320?. Probably the worse footage I have ever seen from a dashcam. Most reviews show only the front camera at max. The rear uses the front cameras chipset to render video and the camera is simply not up to it. Most will not realise this until they review video at some later date.OK so at first glance it seems great I have it behind my rearview mirror all set up properly (with yes the lens protective film removed [Groan!]. I also purchased the rear camera to go with it and this makes the front camera almost unusable as a result. However, the camera has one serious flaw. As you cannot set manual focus you are left with what the camera can do. Its one job is to focus a few metres in from the bonnet, why would I want to record the windshield 3 inches in front of it? If you get a bit of dust or dirt on the windshield it seems to focus on that? In any case disappointed. The rear camera is fine for what it is but it ruins the front camera. As being rear ended is just as much of a risk in an accident it is essential to have both. I feel I wasted my money.

Overall good value for money
Mounting was easy enough. I like the magnetic connector that allows you to detach and reattach it easily to change settings or get the MicroSD card out.The app is pretty nifty, if I were in an accident I'd use that to ensure I'd got a copy of the footage at the time. One minor nitpick is there doesn't seem to be any way to change the WiFi hotspot password from the default, so I only turn it on as needed.I got a 3000 model dash cam and the image quality can be quite good-especially in decent light. While the 2k resolution is good, it isn't everything. I can't read the license plates of cars in motion on the recordings. Text on signs and the license plates of stationary cars that are readable when driving in a straight line become unreadable when turning a corner-even at low speed. Lowering the resolution doesn't help as there's no option to also change the FPS.I don't think the night mode does anything and if you leave it on auto, it will switch back to colour when there's more light available but this means it may switch between modes as you pass street lamps. If filming in 2k especially I'd recommend just going with the fastest MicroSD card you can get that's also high endurance, I went for a class 10 V30 U3, they're relatively cheap now. 5 minutes of 2k recording gives files approx 488MB fairly consistently. 5 minutes at 1080 gives 380MB files. If you do a lot of long trips, I suggest taking this into account when choosing a card, otherwise if something happens at the start of the trip and you're not able to transfer it until you get back, you may find it's been overwritten. A 16GB card should give approx 2.8 hours of 2k recording. While having a GPS location on the recording is nifty, don't rely on it. I get 'NO SIGNAL' in some suburban areas with no tall buildings around. Also, the accuracy isn't always good. Unfortunately this also calls into doubt the accuracy of their speed measurement, though I've found it to be quite good-about 2mph off what my car's speedo indicates. Unfortunately I doubt most other dashcams are any better.

Picture is very sharp- Good evidence in court
It has problems connecting to the phone. Once connected, via wifi, your phone cannot connect to anything else. Poor design but as a dash cam, it is good value for money. British technology with a British customer service. Customer Service was very good with human picking up. All hail United Kingdom and the people therein.
