The package it came in on the lable is proud to display the American Flag logo along with the words "Made in the USA". Also printed on the cable itself are the specs and the printed words made in the USA. Really top notch quality cable. Thank you for your question! This cable will work as you may just need to purchase different connectors. Typically, scanners require a coax RG58A with a SMA male to a UHF female connector.

You could, but rg58u would probably work better for that application.

Different mfg of RG8x claim different power ratings. Belding says 370 watts for 50MHz. DXE says 900 watts for 50MHz. CB uses 27-28MHz. Power rating goes up as frequency goes down. (CB is also restricted to a lot less that 250 watts,but...) I don't know where Cable Experts coax comes from. They don't provide power ratings. I tried the Cable Experts product, because i knew i would only be using it for 100 watts or less. However, the PL259 connectors fell apart within a week, and I returned the product.
