Big Shrimpy Drift Faux Suede Crate Mat, Small, Saddle

I thought this was an excellent price, at $62.48, compared to the normal price of around $109. So I bought it and noticed that the price listed on Amazon immediately went back up to $109. When the item arrived, it was obviously a previously returned item. Though it was in good shape, there was debris stuck to the fabric, the fabric was dirty on one side and there were a couple of noticeable spots that looked like dried saliva (at least I hope it's saliva!). I don't remember reading anywhere in the descriptor that this was a used or returned item. While I appreciate Amazon's awesome return policy, I would also have liked to know if I was getting a good deal because of the item's returned condition. I haven't decided whether to wash and keep it or return it.Otherwise, the mat seems to be good quality and the fabric seems sturdy. (I have a couple of "nesters" and a less durable fabric wouldn't last long.) This item will be used as a cushion for riding in the back of the car so I wanted something thinner so that the dogs were stable when standing in a moving car. This would definitely fit the bill. This crate mat is double sided, so it can be turned over and the opposite side is exactly the same. The cushion inside is not removable, therefore you have to wash the whole pad which might be hard in a conventional home washer. It also makes replacing the cover impossible. The item was also an inch shorter in both length and width than stated. Overall, a decent product for the price I paid, given its slightly dirty condition.

I've purchased many crate mats and cushy dog beds, all of which have had relatively short life spans because they couldn't survive the washing machine. To be fair, most didn't claim to be machine washable, but with my particular dogs, any bed will eventually require more than "spot cleaning". I have two large and two mediums in the coffee color. These are the only crate mats to have proved to be truly machine washable. I have had them for about two years now, and they have survived countless washings in my high-capacity front loading washer without any rips, tears, or damage that I can detect. Time and again they come out of the washer and dryer like new. My dogs are not chewers, but if they were, I hardly think I could blame the bed for getting chewed. These are not the fluffiest, cushiest beds you'll find, but if you are willing to sacrifice on that front for something that is durable, these are a find. The actual dimensions on these is somewhat longer and wider than our crates, but that works out okay, because it allows them to "lay" up the sides and back to form a "bumper" effect that adds some coziness. I do notice that the pricing on these is prone to wild swings over time. I paid in the $40 - $50 range for mine and later saw that the price had dropped to about half that for a time. Currently I see that the prime-eligible ones are back to about what I paid and yet another seller is listing them for close to $200. As good as they are, they are definitely not worth nearly that.

Keeps the new puppy warm and comfy. She will acutally go to her pen with out coaxing and nap.

I have another one of these in the green color so was disappointed at how stiff this one is. Must have changed the manufacturing.

Nice fit in the crate. My dog likes sleeping on it.

Well, I'm out almost 100$. Dog destroyed this bed within one day. Not as durable as advertised. I would stay away if you have a dog that likes to chew.

Well made, but color is way different from picture/description (its called plum, but its bright purple). Will be returning both of them : (
