Works as Described
This ring stops your chair from sinking down. No more adjusting your seat every few minutes. A good solution to a common problem. Most chairs at some point need this and this brand works well. Easy to install. Worth the money and effort!

Still Works After Over 4 Months!
I'm a big guy @ 275lbs. I bought an Emerge gaming chair in January and by July it had started to sink on an ever increasing basis. I was forever pulling the handle to lift the seat. I got a replacement gas cylinder but couldn't remove the old one so I stumbled across this gadget and installed it a week ago and tightened the screws as much as humanly possible. So far it has held seat in position.Another reviewer claimed that metal on metal wouldn't hold. Not true! If that were the case then railway locomotives would never work as they rely on metal-to-metal friction even when wheels and tracks are smooth due to wear! The key to getting this gadget to work is to tighten the bolts as far as they will go and then some (tap the Allen key with a mallet or hammer)Update #1: still holding after two weeks. My 275lb body sits on the chair 8 hours a day!Update #2: still holding after six weeks with 8 hours a day use!Update #3: still holding after two months with 8 hours a day use!Update #4: still holding after over four months with 8 hours a day use!Update #5: still holding firm after over a year! No adjustments have been necessary. My 250lb body sits on the chair 8 hours a day! $15 well spent.I think that anyone who claims this thing doesn't work and their chair keeps sinking has not installed it properly. The bolts (2) need to be tightened as far as they will go (and then a bit more!) Also there is NO WAY it can "pop off and fall the floor" as it has two hefty bolts holding in place!

Works Really Well. Good quality product
Once I found the height I needed, tightened it, and seat did not budge. Kept the wrench at my desk in case of re-tighten. Never had to adjust or retighten after initial install. Very happy with this product. I have recommended to many people

Easy to use
Very easy to put on and works very well. I am very happy with it because I don't every raise or lower the chair from my desired position.

You need this if your office chair is sinking
I bought this to fix the hydraulic shaft on my office chair as Ive only had it for about 2 years now. It started out as a gradual sinking and then it became more prevalent. After seeing this item I figured it would be far easier to try this than to find a hydraulic shaft that would fit my office chair both at the top going into the tilting mechanism of the chair and the bottom piece going into the legs. Its very simple to put onto your chair. You simply raise the chair to the height you want and then you bolt this piece onto the shaft and torque the screws down. My chair hasnt sunk since I put it on in December.

Don't bother with it it doesn't do it's job
Horrible doesn't work it just slides back up the pipe even when u tighten it as much as u can it doesn't properly bite into the metal making this thing completely and udderly useless

Good solution for sinking office chair issue
I was about to replace the pneumatic cylinder on my office chair because it’s been slowly sinking every time I sit in it for like a year now. Finally got sick of dealing with it. However, this weird little doodad popped up and it was about half the price so I figured I’d give it a shot. It was easy to install and works perfect so far (about 5 days in, so hopefully it holds up). Simple & clever design. I guess the only drawback is if you share the chair with someone else or happen to need to ever raise or lower it, but for my situation it’s not a problem to have it locked in place at one specific setting. So nice to not have it slowly lowering itself and having to raise it over and over every day. Dig it! Would recommend.
