Batman Universe 1 Hardcover – 24 March 2020

Batman Universe é claramente o melhor gibi de Brian Bendis na DC. Não que os outros sejam ruins (pelo menos pra mim), mas é que esse aqui é MUITO bom. Com a incrível arte do Nick Derington, o gibi é um passeio pelo vasto universo DC, onde o escritor brinca com vários heróis e vilões da editora. Extremamente recomendado

When Batman's arch-enemy, the Riddler, steals a Faberge egg, it begins an adventure which sees Batman searching for the Riddler, on a journey which allies him with other heroes, including the most unlikeliest he would have expected to meet. Written by Brian Michael Bendis, Batman: Universe collects the previously published mini series of six issues with some additional information pages. The artwork is by Nick Derington and is very reminiscent of the early 60s Batman artwork, which is simplistic in its style and not to everyone's taste in this digital age.

An utter joy of a Batman read.Gone is the dark and moody Batman of recent years and in his stead, we get a dry-witted detective that works well with others and takes amazing situations in stride.It's a fun, action-filled, continuous stream of team-ups that takes Batman across time and space in the search of an unknown power that could change the world.As much as I enjoy dark and introspective Batman, it was a delight to see him geek out over dinosaurs and have battles of wit with Alfred. There is just so much to relish within the pages of this quick read that I don't want to ruin the surprises.There are tons of easter eggs and callbacks that will keep long-time readers delighted, but it's also light enough and entertaining enough that even a very casual comic reader is sure to find something to love.Also, the art by Nick Derington is fantastic. Not only is it visually appealing and fits the story to a T, he also manages to some incredibly creative things with how he manages and plays around with panels.

The artwork is top-notch, the writing is clever and fun, the coloring is spot-on, lettering rocks, and it all combines to tell a very, very fun Batman story that's engaging and cool. Do yourself a favor and get this one!
