These are great towels, I managed to grab a few during what appeared to be a pricing mistake for a particular color. There are many reviews here about the towels not absorbing moisture and they're right, however, I have the same problem with most of my new towel purchases particularly higher end towels like these. I've heard two theories: 1. The put a coating of silicone spray on it or 2. There is some natural coating on the fibers. Never the less, after two or three washed the absorbency of the towels will be greatly improved. I know automatically was new towels 3 times before using them and it seems to help alot.

Through research, I discovered that the best towels and sheets are made from Supima Cotton. I prefer a bath sheet to a bath towel. This towel is luxury personified--just touching is a thrill. Yes, it is a bit heavy and does not always dry completely in one day: The answer is simply to have two towels and alternate using them.I understand that using a softner will cut down on the towel's ability to absorb water; however, I gladly sacrifice in order to have the soft towel against my skin. Using the towel makes the day start with a smile.I bought a set of the towels to try them; after two days, I bought another set.

Giving these towels even 1 star is being generous. Never before have I seen a towel that had 0% absorbency, water sits on the surface of the towel making it impossible to dry off using them. The weird thing about it - we were gifted these same towels from a different seller and they work just fine. We decided to buy another set through Amazon since the price was similar to other places and because you know, free 2-day prime shipping. BIG mistake - what a waste of money. Do yourselves a favor and don't make the same mistake we did.

NOT absorbent at all. It's almost as if there is some sort of coating on the towel fibers. I will try washing it a few more times to see if it makes a difference but otherwise it looks like I wasted a goodly sum of money on a wildly inferior product. If I discover that washing them makes a difference I will post a follow up review.

Do not buy these unless you enjoy NOT being dry when you use them!! That's right - just as a couple other reviews said, these towels do not dry you off. It's so odd because these towels are super soft and plush (more than the Superior Egyptian Towels). Material is heavy. They feel good to the touch and look nice.....however they DO NOT dry your body off or soak up water when drying off. They leave a "film" of water on your body that leaves you cold!!! How can something made of cotton do this?!?! It's mind boggling to me, but it must be the weave they use...Not sure, but I returned 4 of these and bought the Superior Egyptian Cotton bath sheets instead (I like them).

These towels are huge. I would call them bath sheets. They are heavy and well made. They'll soak up all of your man's after=shower moisture and still be good to wrap up in. I ordered the Calcot brand b/c I had bought some in the past and my son loved them. These will be his father's day gift. He doesn't want to use any other towels, but this brand and size.

These were to have bee a gift. I expected them to be a lavender color but they are closer to a cocoa color. I don't see a hint of any purple. Maybe they were mislabeled. I kept them for myself and find them to be soft, absorbent and a good size. I am always looking for bath sheets and would buy these again.

These towels are the perfect size and thickness, very absorbent. However, I brush my teeth in the shower, and for some reason that causes my towels to have bleach spots, and light pink areas. If you have teenagers with acne medication, or like to bleach your towels, I wouldn't recommend any color but white.

I washed these towels in cool water soon after receiving them. I dried them in the dryer, along with a softener sheet. Upon first use after the wash, the bathsheet seems to leave a very thin film of water on the skin, and the material itself felt very wet. Yet my skin didn't really feel like I'd dried it. Very odd. But the bathsheet itself is nice and soft and thick to the touch. Maybe after it gets used more I'll feel dry after using it; maybe it'll get more absorbent. I would buy this item again.

Just luxury.
