I wish I would have bought sooner
I've been going to physio for a torn rotator cuff and they use one of these handy gadgets all the time. It helps so much and feels amazing, especially when used in conjunction with a heating pad.I then recently hurt my back and a heating pad alone wasn't giving any relief. My therapist suggested I get a Tens machine to help with both problems, to help in between my weekly visits with her, so I did..... How did I go so long without one of these babies! My first use was for my back with a heating pad. After playing with the many options for about 5 minutes to find what I was most comfortable with, I ended up using it for a full hour... It just felt so friggin good, and the pain relief was almost instantaneous. I've been using it on my back and shoulder every evening for the past week. My back is basically back at 100%, so the Tens machine isn't really needed, but using it is a wonderful wind down at the end of the day, so I'm still putting it on, just because. It has many levels of intensity too, so you can find what feels best for you. I have a pretty decent pain tolerance but can only (comfortably) go to about a 6 (out of 10), so I can't see many people thinking it's not strong enough for them.I took off a star for a couple small reasons. One: I wish it had a lock button for the controls. It fits nicely under your clothes, so I wore it at work one day and put the unit in my pocket. I accidentally bumped it and turned the pressure up a couple levels... Not a fun experience.I also wish it had just a constant pulse setting. The tens machine they use at physio does, and it's my favourite setting, but that's a personal preference, not anything wrong with the machine itself. Thus far I'm very happy with this. I haven't had any issues with the sensors not sticking, but I also wet them with a little bit of water before applying to the skin, as was recommended, and all seems fine so far.

Use after every run
I already had restless legs and bad knees when I started running at 40 so I knew I was in for trouble. This helps. Not right away but it reduces muscle soreness for the next day. It has less of an impact on my joint pain. The device is not great quality - the screen shifted off angle one day and sometimes you have to turn it on and off multiple times to work but that is not too surprising given the price. I like that you get lots of pads but I followed the advice in other reviews and purchased extra gel to extend their life. Overall, a really good entry level machine.
