I have been pressing and cooking tofu since I became a vegetarian in 1993, and I finally got tired of pressing tofu in a paper towel weighted down with some heavy object in my sink.I ordered this press so I can press tofu inside my fridge and *save the tofu water for my plants or to use in a smoothie or in a sauce, gravy or soup. (Some people are even whipping tofu water into a foamy meringue similar to aquafaba!)This press does everything I need it to do, plus it’s so easy to quickly rinse/dry, stash in a drawer for tomorrow. I wish I had this 20 years ago!*If you want to save the tofu water, with a sharp paring knife, gently cut the plastic wrap from the package and pour the excess liquid into the jar. Then place the tofu into the press and set the bands. After the tofu has pressed awhile, without opening the press, pour the liquid from a corner of the press into the jar. You can then tighten the press if you desire, and squeeze out even more liquid to add to the jar after a little while.

This was my first attempt at removing water from tofu using a gadget. It worked great and the tofu was perfect for my recipe. Highly recommend this product. I used to use a cast iron skilled on top of the tofu to remove the water but sometimes it would damage the tofu. This gadget is easy to use.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I’m just starting to experiment with tofu and it’s amazing! This is so much easier and cleaner than just setting a cast iron pan on top of it. It always turned out a wonky shape and now it stays in a neat rectangle.

I cannot believe I have been pressing my tofu for over a year with two cutting boards and a towel thinking it was "pressed". I put my entire box of tofu in this tofu press at night and wake up in the morning and use some tofu for breakfast. Then I put the remaining tofu back in and save it for later. 10/10 recommend this press. Came in the mail right on time, washes even quicker.

I bought this tofu press after lot of research. The quality of the press is very good, all the excess water is drained out of the tofu. Only problem is the size of the tofu that we get from Whole Foods does not fit in this box. I have to cut it and do it two times. It is very easy to stir fry tofu after pressing it for a couple of hours. It is a game changer, love it very easy to use.
