Excellent Training Dao
As a practitioner of Shaolin Kung-fu I really admire this training dao. It is extremely sturdy and well weighted. Rather surprisingly, it has quite a bit of aesthetic design. It looks really nice. Great for practicing "Eight-Directional Broadsword Night Battle."

Perfect for tai chi (dao) practice
I'm using this to practice the (hunuyan) chen 24 sword (dao) form. The weight is good, and the polypropylene is super durable and appropriately blunt for practicing. The size is as advertised (good length). It moves well, and if you're looking for something for broadsword practice (versus lighter or straight sword practice), this is a good purchase. It is hefty/durable enough that you shouldn't whack anyone with it (it'll hurt!). The only detractor I've noticed is that the guard is circular and sufficiently wide enough that adjusting the type of grip takes some getting used to. Bottom line: it's a great practice sword.

Not recommended to clash with other training swords.
Sword came with slight bend in the blade from how flimsy it is mixed with how it sat in the box but it's flimsiness is similar to an actual dao almost, in general it's a great sword for learning techniques and it does look quite nice and feel good, good weight and grip on it too. I also love the added touch of a hole in the base of the handle for a dao ribbon ornament. But I must add that this isn't exactly the sword shown in the photo, that one has a removable guard and the model I received has a static guard with different designs.

Functional product
I had been eyeing the original design of the sword and have seen the disappointment in some of these reviews. I decided to order 2 despite the chance they were the newer design; and they both were the new design so I cannot speak of the aesthetic or durability of the old ones but I can say that these are definitely dao broadsword shaped and are distinctive enough for demonstrations or forms despite being less ornate. It is flexible yet rigid enough for sword sparring and fit the bill for kung fu forms and sparring. Within safe sparring force these should hold up and then some, I wouldn’t swing these too hard against bare flesh but they seem as durable as other polypropylene training swords. A benefit of these is their length compared to other poly kung fu swords. Very cool

Not worth full price
It's fine, nothing special. The design is cool and it feels nice to hold, very light for its size. But the blade or handle came crooked, might be both somehow. That's not great, and I expect better from a practice weapon. Very cheap, buy it at a VERY steep discount.

Example sword does NOT match what they send
I admit to being a bit overly optimistic with this purchase. Several of the other reviews have stated the same issue but I had hoped the seller had corrected their misrepresentation. Sadly they have not. As I purchased this as a Christmas present and as it arrived on Christmas eve I will not be returning it. The sword I did receive does technically meet the description specs mostly, but it does not have a removable pommel, nor is it as pretty and decorative. The blade is slightly warped as well. I believe the person I'm giving it to won't care because they don't know what the sword was supposed to look like and it is just for fun but I do and I'm disappointed. I believe that Amazon should flag this seller for lying to its customers and misrepresenting their product through false advertising photography. Technically this is illegal. If you are fine with a basic plastic sword with no decoration that is probably going to be warped then this is the purchase for you...if you want the sword in the photo then I would skip this one because that isn't what you will get.

Impressed
Alot more impressed with the quality of this than I expected to be. One of our kids loves "weapons" and is always using sticks as play swords. He has gone thru countless cheap toy swords. This "martial arts training sword" is perfect. Quality. Should last him alot longer... and I am sure it will be what sword training people are after. Seems durable. Realistic weight

Closest I've seen
Exactly what I wanted it to be, might off in length but the only one I've seen on here to replicate the oxtail niuweidao with handle, guard and shape of the blade, durability isn't what i was looking for so swinging it against something else I can't speak on, but otherwise good.

Good Quality but not the training sword in the picture
The training sword I received was not the one that is shown in the picture. I do already own the one in the picture which I bought at Warriors and Wonders. It is roughly the same shape, comparable in quality, feels sturdier, thinner hilt with oval guard that cannot be removed, slightly heavier, and 1-2cm shorter than the one that is shown in the picture. I don't really mind because of the price point, but the seller should probably change the picture to avoid problematic situations. In the comments section there is another customer with a similar experience.

A similar but different sword than shown in the picture.

crooked handle
The overall build of it was good my issue are that it was not as depicted in the picture the design on the blade and cross guard are different and the cross guard isn't removable like the one in the picture and the biggest issue for me was the crooked handle its just crooked enough that it make the blade feel over balance in my hand

They changed the design
I ordered this sword expecting to get the sword advertised, but I received the same sword but they had changed the design for the worst. The hand guard is already attached and the whole sword has half the designs advertised. The handle is not round, and the blade is floppy. Still a good sword, just I am very disappointed that they changed the design and have not updated the photo.
