Verilux HappyLight Duo - 2-in-1 Light Therapy & Task Desk Lamp

I’ve had this light for a couple of months now. I bought it for the morning light because I go to work in the dark during the winter hours. I wasn’t planning on spending quite this much for a light but this has turned out to be a great purchase. I did a lot of research on lamps especially for getting the right amount of light for balancing your circadian rhythm. My sleep has gotten so much better and it turns out I’m using the light in the afternoons and evenings to read with as well. It has so many great features with different brightness and color modes. It also will adjust to different heights which makes it great for getting the light to shine from overhead . It’s very sturdy and very well made. One of the best purchases I’ve made.

Like many others, I've have been working from home (WFH) since March 2020 due to Covid. I find the isolation of working solo in my apartment on my laptop all day quite hard...depressing some days, to be quite frank. I'm already prone to low-grade depression in general, so Covid has been really taxing on my mental health. Since I needed a new table lamp for my WFH setup anyway, I decided to try this HappyLight Duo desk lamp and I LOVE IT. It not only provides excellent, crisp, clear light on my WFH desk, but I like that it's also providing me with light therapy to lift my mood some during these dark times (literally since it's winter...and figuratively, you know, like with Covid, ugly politics, war, etc.). I genuinely think I feel better/lighter/cheerier after I've been working by my HappyLight Duo for several hours. I also like the different settings the HappyLight Duo has that change the brightness of the light (I think there are 7 gradients) and the "type/temperature" of light you get (3 different modes). I use the brightest light in the morning to try to help wake up faster and try to get some morning good cheer going. I actually keep the light on in the afternoon just because it's nice and adds warmth to my apartment. And finally, I use the lower and mellower settings in the evening when I'm still working on my laptop, but don't want the light to be so intense. Oh, one last thing! The design is simple and lovely. That's another reason I chose it - it looks nice on my desk along with all my white and silver Apple products. I am a minimalist style-wise and I really appreciate the simple design and white color. It's a handsome, modern-looking lamp. It's so great that the HappyLight Duo is dual-purpose AND looks good! Sending love and light and joy and hope to all those who suffer from depression. I understand. Do any little thing you can to help make yourself feel better...like perhaps buying this HappyLight Duo. It's worth the money.

This is a good desk lamp. Flexibility of light direction, hue and intensity are excellent. The light does not appear as harsh but as a gentle illumination. It's not inexpensive, but worth the investment. My eye doctor always says "Better light...better sight. Take care of your eyes!

Bought this for my husband who is very pleased with every aspect so far. He enjoys the brightness and the ease of variability from bright to warm lights. He uses it first thing in the morning to wake up and also as a desk lamp in the home office. It has a sturdy base, with a flexible head which makes it easy to use. Battery life is good so far. It’s just the right size for his purposes. He also has put it on a shelf to get more of a “sunshine” effect. Since he’s happy. I’m happy and would recommend it to anyone.

Simple, great design to the lamp with an easy adjustable arm. It is sturdy. The base is solid, balanced and works great for me. The size of the lamp is just right for my desk.

Have used this every work day consistently in my office with very little natural light! I like the different types of light available with varying settings. Fits very well on my desk, looks sleek and has been a reliable piece of my daily routine.

This is the best sunlight I’ve ever had for the purpose of being a sunlight. I saw a video testing that it had a high circadian light value which is what you want and it feels like it. The 3 color settings are nice and match other lights almost perfectly. Oh, and there’s almost no glare!! - this is big for me bc these bright lights are often blinding but this one is great. My disappointment is the build is big and not very attractive. The base and light are wide and take a lot of space. My biggest annoyance is controlling the brightness; you have to press a button 7 times to cycle through and it’s hard to tell where it’s at. If there was a knob or scale it would be much better. Overall I’d give a 3.5 because of price and design. But, would still recommend for quality of light.

It has a lovely, soft, flexible, grippy neck. Heavy base makes it very stable. The light is just perfect - no shadows or glare. Simple touch power on/off and illumination level. It just fits in with my desktop. It is well named i.e. "HappyLight".

High quality product with a quality finish, decently heavy so sits steady on table. It has great touch control buttons and feels robust. No ‘wobbly plastic’. Due to product shortage, mine was sent from the US with a US plug instead of the UK version I need. My feedback requesting a refund to cover purchase of a plug adapter was immediately covered with a £10 refund. All agreed within a couple of hours. Things go wrong: and when they do, it’s reassuring to be able to sort matters out politely and easily (via online chat in my case). Worth 5* in my book!

When my purchase from Verilux arrived in the mail, I was surprised. Having bought my excellent first Verilux light ten years ago in person, I expected this time to see the common decline in quality of the company’s product line. This light is designed well and made of superior materials. It’s even a pleasure to handle. Since I don’t have any way of verifying a bulb’s brightness or degree of lumens output, I bet with my money on this brand and trust this product with nicely do the trick. Thank you, Verilux, and please keep up the good work.

A lovely product but comes with a US plug which will blow the lamp if you plug it in in the UK. Had to return it unfortunately but it would be helpful if the seller makes this clear.

I used this lamp for the first time for thirty minutes this morning, at the highest intensity, and it allowed me to wake up with only two cups of tea, instead of three, which I have ALWAYS needed UNTIL NOW! It gave me the energy and enthusiasm to quickly wrap and pack my godson's Christmas gifts today, four months ahead of schedule, and his mother was amazed! It's early August, but I don't go outside very much and I am therefore very pale, so this lamp will almost certainly be of even greater help when winter comes to this part of Canada. I am shocked that doctors prefer to prescribe addictive drugs instead of light therapy, which I am told is far more effective, and now I believe it!
