What a great book collection for my son. He finished all the books in a little less than a month. Trying a good read:) a beautiful addition to our library:)

I read these books as a kid and always wanted the hardcover collection. This definitely did not disappoint! The package arrived fast and in decent shape. Some of the edges on the outer sleeve were a little creased, but the books are in perfect order and almost exactly how I remember them. They definitely didn't have the Netflix stickers on them back then, and I feel like the actual artwork on the front covers may have been a different material or application style on the original hardcovers. Minor differences though, and I am stoked to have the full line up!

This series of books by "Lemony Snicket" does not have the standard "happy ending" of most childrens books. The 3 kids in these stories have miserable lives with one thing going wrong after another. Because of this, I thought my 7 year old son wouldn't like them - wrong! He absolutely loves them and is always begging me to read one more chapter! The writing is dry, but funny. The books contain many "large" or unusual words/expressions, but almost all are explained in the text. I would say these books are good for kids from 7 - 12 (although use your judgement for the younger ones as the books do have evil bad guys, murder and lots of threats). As an adult reading the books to your kids, you might get a little frustrated as the stories are similar and the adults in the books are really dense - but these are for kids and they seem to love them!

Our granddaughter was thrilled when she opened this set! It was by far her favorite gift this year. She is an avid reader and wasn’t expecting the entire set. The case the books came in was fun as well.

I couldn't be happier, I've wanted this series for a very long time, the books came in a timely manner, securely packed with recyclable materials, the books were in amazing condition and well worth the price

After reading my first McCall Smith series, I tackled all 13 of these books. They are totally different but have a great sense of humor. For that reason alone, I love the books but I also love the suspense (yes, it is suspenseful!!). I don't care if this is billed as a children's book. All the good readers I know are adults and have read at least some of these books. They are funny, suspenseful, and highly readable. Thanks!
