Review: The last ph tester you will buy. Ever.. - Hands down the best PH TDS EC ORP tester I have used, and abused, ironically I ask doing this review because, simply, I'm not easy on this tester, I drop it loose it , kick it, but not in three years have I broken a probe. Atleast the glass bulb, so I have to wonder what these ppl were doing , one person says too exposed, exposed too what the rock hard water in your solution or were they PHing rocks?! Nothing worse than misleading reviews. Breakage of the probe is user error and bc Apera cant say it, STUPIDITY. If you buy this instrument I guarantee you will not break a probe unless your using it for something which it was not designed. Thus u cant complain when it breaks. The other one was some one cleaning it, firstly n lastly, READ THE CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS, where it says clearly avoid cleaning the glass probe using a contact method in other words dont touch it and if ya do, do it with a tip cotton ball, not a hammer. Ive head this 3 years bought it with the flat sensor which is great and went thru two more on my third but thoes were all user error. Leaving it stored in distilled water not orp solution etc. The replace or changeable probes is the feature that puts too bed thoughts of another brand. I have all three and they ask have their uses in a garden nursery.
Review: PH only meter, accurate, a little slow. Dropped once and had to replace tip ($32). Working again. - Worked fine until dropping on floor, looked fine but always says 6.8ph, still went into calibration mode. Emailed mfg. and was told need to replace tip, not under warranty when dropped. Now working fine.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do I have to calibrate the replacement or does it already come calibrated?**
A: Yes I would takes one minute and it should be good for several readings, check out you tube for the tutorial, comes with a small amount of pH 4 and pH 7 testing fluids but I would buy larger bottles of each 8 to 10 oz would be plenty for refilling test vials.

This pH tester works awesome ,I bought a extra tip just in case but haven't needed to use it yet. Be careful with glass bulb when cleaning and it will last a long time.
Hope this helps

**Q: The spare probe arrived without being submerged in 3M KCl, is this normal? there is some moisture but not enough to submerge it**
A: Yes, it is a common practice to store the probe with just droplets of water for humidity.

The fill line is for the 3M KCL or 4.0 calibration as a substitute. Do not fill with water that will damage the sensor over time.

**Q: Will this connect (be compatable), to the Apera PC60 body?**
A: Yes

**Q: shelf life?**
A: The PH60 meter has a 2-year warranty so any time beyond 2 years depending on care and usage.

The probe has a 6-month warranty and a typical active lifetime of 8 months to a year and a half also dependent on usage and care. Thus the replaceable platform.

I got 3 years from my original PH 60 meter until it started giving me an error code when calibrating. I always leave it soaking in solution when not in use. 3 years!! This new tip calibrated easily and I hope to get anotehr 3 years!! Good price too.....compared to the Aprea site, where I would have preferred to buy it from!! Come on Apera, what are you thinking?? Like giving someone else a slice of the pie??!
