Be sure to wear a face covering and gloves when using
It's safe for plants... but you DO NOT want to inhale the fine particles of this stuff. It will make you very sick for 48 to 72 hours. I found out the Darwin way. I saw 5 scorpions and went into panic mode and just laid the stuff down as quickly as possible with out protective gear. And I suffered for it. However! No roaches in MY apartment! Just dead ones outside who cross the boundaries. It's all about having boundaries, people! I lined the perimeter of my patio and front door way with it topped with a death cake of a little boric acid. This apartment complex was built next to a mountain which is the breeding ground of Scorpions....and they take a little longer to die.... so can still crawl around and inside for a few days before dying. I had to seal up every pin hole, nook, and cranny, weather strip, duct tape, caulk, use mesh screens behind the vent coverings to seal up this apartment tight enough to regulate the air pressure... So far.. they just stay on the patio glowing florescent as I peer out at them with the eyes of a hunter and my UV flashlight.

Kills fungus gnats! A great natural insecticide.
I bought this diatomaceous earth to kill an infestation of fungus gnats in my 11 potted houseplants, which I think happened when they were all transplanted into new soil. (So much for doing something good for the plants.) Just layer this stuff on top of the soil nice and thick, and it smothers anything attempting to hatch in the soil, and prevents the gnats from laying new eggs or otherwise perpetuating their annoying selves. The soil should be very dry when you put it on, otherwise this stuff soaks up the moisture and won't work. If it turns yellowish, it's wet and needs to be scraped off/replaced. I had to do that to 2 plants but it was easy, and effective once replaced.Takes a couple of weeks to do its thing completely, that's the lifecycle of the gnats. But that's all I had to do and the infestation is gone and every plant is still healthy. Now doing tray watering from below to keep topsoil dry for a while longer.Great, natural product. I will look for ways to use it outside in the good weather instead of insecticides.

Love this stuff
Love this stuff! I originally purchased this because I have 12 cats and they got fleas which was a nightmare. Not only did this kill the fleas in my house, but it killed the fleas on the cats better than flea treatment. It is easy to use, doesn't stain or smell, and as a bonus I have literally no other creepy crawlies in my house and I live next to a wooded park and a ZOO. BUY THIS STUFF!

This stuff works great! It cuts the exoskeleton of bugs on the micro-cellular level and kills them dead. No POISONS! its safe!
This stuff works! we have been invaded with the latest plague of crazy ants. Regular baits and poisons don't work on these critters, they completely take over and invade very quickly; and they are very destructive! After spending $150.00 for ant baits of every kind; soaking the area with liquid poisons and several "home remedies" they keep rapidly advancing through the backyard. I bought this stuff, it is very safe around pets and children; I sprinkled this on and around the small mount; then I stabbed the nest to bring out the ants; they swarmed picking up the powder. I checked the next day and the nest was dead. I then used it on the other 5 or 6 nest and they completely disappeared. I haven't seen new nest appear yet. I know they will be back because they are just taking over here in Texas, and like fire ants it becomes a battle you wage. We also have Texas Leaf Cutters, or harvester ants. There is no known treatment for these ants; They don't take baits and there nest are up to 25 ft deep and giant. I'm hoping the next time they come to strip a tree or shrub this will work to knock them back or down.

Safe 'crawly' critter dust for deterrence or elimination
This product rids your life of numerous crawling (or gliding) pests that attack your garden or invade your house! It is generally safe unless the dust is inhaled! People even ingest the FOOD GRADE version of diatomaceous earth for certain health goals. As for VALUE, for pest control this is a 5-star product IMO because it is a threat to snails, slugs, roaches, ants, and more household nuisances. My LOW 3-star overall rating is because four pounds of this is a challenge to store without messy accidents IF THE ZIP CLOSURE on the bag is USELESS! The plastic zip closure is a single, not double, zip closure so small a gauge that it is impossible to get to zip closed across the 12-14 inch bag top. If you do not have a big 2.5 gallon extra large zip closure storage bag hefty enough to hold the open bag of unused product... GOOD LUCK!

Good Quality Control for Most Bugs
Any DIATOMACEOUS EARTH product is a great defense against insect attacks. I used this product on my vegetable garden. My first mistake was putting down hardwood mulch infested with spider mites (awful little vampires). I dusted the mulch around my plants and left a 3-foot spot where no plants were present, and lightly watered it in to keep the wind from blowing the dust away. The spot at the end was over run by insects in about 30 days. If I dusted the surface, this would do some real damage for a few weeks or until there was a heavy rain... DE works well to reduce insect damage, it can also injure bees and other pollinators if over used while plants are blooming. I have also recommended this DE product indoors (under the range, cabinets and other hidden dark areas) to control roaches to a landlord whom has no clue of controlling insect infestations.

Thank you!
I have a Desert Willow tree that I have been trying to keep the ants from decimating every summer for the past few years. Nothing I have tried has worked, or worked for very long. A co-worker mentioned this, so figured I give it a try. Spread it around the outside of the tree ring and so far after two months, my tree is doing the best it ever has. It no longer has to put the energy into creating new growth every few weeks to actually sustaining the growth. The tree is getting fuller and healthier. I just ordered a few more bags since Arizona's Monsoon season is coming up. Supposedly this stuff will not work once it gets wet. I have also put some around the door sill to see if it will keep the ants from getting inside. Very happy with this purchase.
