Never Apologise
This is an excellent collection of Lindsay Anderson's writing on theatre and film. It offers great insights into his days at the Royal Court Theatre and his work with playwrights such as David Storey, John Osborne or John Arden. It also charts the evolution of his truly great films, such as This Sporting life, If and O, Lucky Man, all of which are masterpieces. For lovers of theatre and film, this is indispensable reading. The writing is distinguished by Lindsay's great intelligence and anarchic spirit and yet tempered by his humanity.
