Overpriced
good product and works well but very over priced. Should only cost 20$ with shipping not 40$

Gets the job done right
I had a blue yetti sitting on my desk, and everytime i click my mouse, keyboard or touch my desk the mic would pick up the sound. This is very sturdy and firm, holds the microphone away from the desk and no more sound travel.I love it, every mic owner should get one.

Great For The Money
I gave this 4 stars, but almost gave it 5, for cost vs value. It works fine for me, practicing vocals and sax at my desk, with an sm58 hooked up. I would not consider this a truly professional tool, but it works just fine for what I am doing, and gets rid of the boom stand that I was using. It is light duty, but will hold a fairly heavy condenser mic no problem. It should last, if treated carefully. The mic clip that came with it is nice. The biggest negative I see is the fact that the threads that hold the mic clip on are PLASTIC, and if you are going to be changing clips often, this will not hold up, and will render the whole thing useless. You could add a quick release mechanism, and this will solve that problem.. Also, it is not very long, so check the dimensions to be sure it will work for you. If you are going to use this for recording, be sure your mic is shock mounted- I suspect the springs could cause a small amount of "boing", though I have only had this problem after physically bumping into the springs. GREAT value for the money, and I use it every day- so far so good.

Amazing mic, especially for it's price point!
Before I start my review, I'd like people to know that I'm using a Blue Yeti Mic, which is 1 Kg compared to other mics that are usually less than 500g.Starting with sturdiness, It isn't all too bad. It doesn't shake much when the table is hassled (I have 2 monitors on stands that visibly shake a lot more due to weight). Everything in my opinion is perfect for the price point. The only issue I find is that since it doesn't really support such heavy mics, you really have to tighten the arm. When I mean tighten it, I REALLY mean tighten it; it will make squeaking noises, but that's just from the metal tightening and rubbing against itself. Don't worry about damaging it. I really gave it a whirl and it's really damn strong. With <500g mics, it could probably hold its own very well. With my Blue Yeti, It's barely holding on. As long as you don't move it around too much, it holds in place really well, even when jostled around.Price to Performance, I'd say it's amazing. For $20, it does the job. I'm probably gonna upgrade to a stronger arm in the near future because of the sheer weight of the Yeti, But if you're mic is under 500g. This is perfect for you, as long as you can tighten the hell out of the arm.For it's size and thickness, I actually noticed it's much smaller than I expected. This is my very first boom arm and it's quite small and thin. This is actually perfect because it makes it more manageable, plus the light weightiness from being hollow helps with the weight issue that some people have with this arm.Note: Because it's hollow, Banging noises might cause a ringing noise, so you might want to add some sort of cloth to wrap around it if it bothers you, but it's over all not noisy.Note: You might have to retighten it if your mic is heavy.(Shock mount in photo not included with arm. If you're looking for the "connection nut", It's located on the condenser mic piece.)TLDR;Mic is perfect for those of you who have <500g mics. For the Blue Yeti, Tighten the hell out of it, it still works well.Mic is hollow and makes a ringing noise when you hit the table, but you can fix it by wrapping it with some clothArm itself is vert sturdy and has everything you need to get started. The movement of the arm is very smooth and will probably serve you a good 2-3 years if you treat it well.P.s. The 3 Straps are put together. I didn't notice until I originally submitted this reviewEdit: Be careful when you tighten the stand. There is a specific limit to how much you want to tighten before you start warping the metal piece. I ended up warping mine enough to the point there the actual mic connector piece fell out of place. I can't been to loosen and reattach it because of how much I kept tightening it, so only go as tight as you need it to. For any users with a heavier mic, I recommend you use a mic stand that can support 1 kilogram (2.2 lbs) so you don't need to deal with the falling of your mic, but it still works great if you decide to leave it as is or prop it upside down.
