Short, but wonderful
Great understanding of how to take on kendo. The short length adds to its value and I think there is more depth in the words than at a first glance.

I should have found this before my Kendo 4th Dan test
This book helped me understand what Kendo(Kumdo) is and how to continue improving my kendo (my kendo philosophy).I was amazed by the contents of this book, every page by page. The following are what I liked the most.1. Your attitude during practice and in everyday life.2. Attacking after winning the fight (how to give pressure on your opponent)/seme & initiation3. How to practice with higher-ranked, of the same level, and lower-ranked Kenshi(folks).

Short, well done and really useful
2 weeks before passing my Shodan grading, I decided to buy this book. This book explains the philosophy of Kendo in a short and efficient way, and put the reader in the proper Kendo mindset. It is not only a good tool to pass the grading... this book will also nurture your Kendo spirit on the long term.PS: I passed my grading!

If you complain that you weren't passed even though you decimated your opponent....
Honestly, this book had me at the passage below, "...if you complain that you weren't passed even though you decimated your opponent, it is an indication that your kendo outlook is immature and underdeveloped."While this book may or may not be applicable to testing in the AUSKF, it is a great reminder in terms of approaching your kendo practice with the right attitude. My favorite kendo book in English thus far.
