Great for small painting, as you can see it’s half size of my large. Easy to use, sturdy, okay value comes with pad. A some pallets. I order more. Lid is great easy to take off & on. Product works great. Keeps paint moist with a wet sponge under the reusable paper provided. Closes tight enabling paint to be used the next day. Happy with this purchase.

I'm a hobbyist painter who works with acrylics on canvas and gaming miniatures. Unfortunately, acrylic dries quickly on a regular palette, even with slow-dry medium. This wet palette works wonders. I can leave paint sealed inside for days, and when I'm actively painting, it keeps the paint wet and workable. This palette came with plenty of reusable paper palette bases, and in a couple months of working with it, I've only changed that paper once (and I probably could have kept going with it if I'd wanted to).

I'm a slow and steady painter. Takes a couple days to do the underpainting and messy middle. And after 'final' I like to hang it up and walk past it for a day to see what last touches I want to do. This palette makes all that possible (because I am not great at replicating my past blends). I've just ordered a couple more because I want to start getting a few paintings going at the same time. Buy this thing. Oh yeah, I find the 8.5 x 7 works well for me. (I use 4-6 colors plus black & white and sometimes a glazing liquid.)

I have not had a chance to utilize the palette yet, but it is exactly what I was looking for size wise. It should help to keep my paints moist while painting. I am slow at painting and my pint too often dries out before I am done with it. This should help.

That is correct you will save paint and time. Here is a common scenario; you’re painting a picture with a prominent human figure. You mix your flesh tones, white, yellow, red, burnt sienna and blue. That is 6 tubes to open and squeeze. 4 hours later you need to make a correction. You notice the lighting effect is not to your satisfaction. Well, get ready to open 6 tubes again. Well, you get the drift,This wet pallet system will keep your paints soluble or at standby for quite some time. I was painting this image and finished the flesh part in one day. I then finished the rest in two days and then I had to retouch the flesh, but ques what. 4 days later the flesh mix was totally useable. Yes, this pallets will save you paint but most important it will let you work better and faster. Of course it will require a little preparation but you will inherit great peace of mind and will allow you to work faster. The paper use to behold your paint can also take the abuse of a paint knife. Indeed a 5 star item.

Can store gouache in this for days if you spray with distilled water before storing and check if moist every few days. Need distilled water to prevent mold. The big palette is WAY big so I use this to put out colors and palette paper for my mixing.

Good size and pants last for at least two weeks
