Victiv Tripod Camera Tripod, 82 inches Aluminum Tripod for DSLR, 80 inches Monopod, Lightweight Tripod with 360 Degree Ball Head Loads Up to 30 lbs for Travel and Work

At my age I didn’t think I would be profoundly impressed by anything anymore. I was with this little guy. This is a nice light to medium lightweight tripod. It closes up at about 18 inches plus or minus all the features on it works smoothly and easily. The ball head is perfect. It came with two camera adapters as well as a cell phone adapter. I appreciated that duplicate camera base. That was very much a surprise I could not be happier with this purchase. This may have been one of the best purchases I’ve made on Amazon in quite a while. If you’re looking for something heavy duty maybe something else by this manufacturer that is bigger would be better but if you’re looking for something to travel with or just take out fairly Regularly this little puppy is the one to get. I’ve been a professional photographer in one capacity or another off and on for over 30 years. Too much equipment and cameras but I like this this tripod it is a good purchase. I bought it to replace a tripod I bought for travel and not available anymore from back in 1992.

UPDATE:After leaving my original review somebody from Victiv reached out to talk to me about the problems I had with the tripod. I've never had a company reach out regarding a negative review before and they were incredibly helpful. After trying to help find a way that I would be able to fix the tripod they offered instead to send me an entirely different model at no cost (which I was not expecting at all). They even mentioned that they were going to have somebody look at their website to amend their warranty statement that was incomplete! Their customer service is exceptional so I raised the review from 2 stars to 3, however my original tripod is still broken. I was told that they will be working with their manufacturing facility to ensure that the problems I had are less likely to happen in the future, which is also nice.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I picked up this tripod to have a small travel tripod that I could also use when I film wedding ceremonies. This is one of the least stabile tripods I own. A light breeze could knock it over. After only using this tripod for less than 10 weddings, one of the leg’s locking mechanisms got loose and so it can’t reliably stay open, especially when picking up the tripod to move it. The leg collapses back to the center.When it was working it was decent inexpensive tripod but frankly I take good care of my gear and this thing lasted such a short time regardless. I would suggest buying something a little more expensive just to avoid the frustration.Side note: I tried to get warranty service for this tripod so I visited the manufacturer website. Verbatim, this is their warranty policy: “You will enjoy a full warranty policy when you choose to purchase our products, and we will provide different warranty policies depending on the nature of the product and your...” so as you can see you won’t exactly be finding help from the manufacturer here.

I’m not new to tripods (20+ years and have used tripods of this similar style a while)… I was in the market for a new one, especially one with a ball head and I found this one. I was excited because it looked quality at a decent price. Purchased it. First one I received had been used (paid for new) and was sent a replacement one. I’ve already tossed the box but wish I could return this one. I have used this quiet a bit yet I can’t put my finger on it but I can NEVER get this level. I don’t know if there is a defect with the one I received but it literally takes me forever to get this thing level on level flat ground. It’s constantly leaning when extended up and out. You would think extending the legs would just work. Not mine. One leg has be fully extending down. One leg only 1/3 extended down and then one of the legs flipped out further from the body rather than it’s basic sitting position and extended down to who knows what angle and extension out. It’s annoying and not quick use in studio let alone on set outside. Definitely feel money has been wasted. I will say though I love how it folds up and the smoothness of the rotation of the ball head is amazing.

I included a short video made using this tripod, When I made some videos previous to obtaining this tripod, I had to use paint cans to raise my old tripod to the height I needed. This tripod solved that problem. However, this tripod is not lightweight, so if you need a tripod that you can easily carry on your back, then maybe this is not the one for you. This weight increases this tripod's sturdiness and this plus the extra height provided suits my needs perfectly.

This seems very well built, confident in its stability with my spotting scope on it or my canon 70 D camera on with heavy lenses. I would highly recommend this tripod it’s seems to be very well made a lot of metal parts verse other tripods I tried had cheap plastic and flimsy.
